I think Masai can trick a team that thinks they can be Champs into believing he is a lucky charm.

The Cavs had McCaw and waived him on January 6, 2019, before the Raps signed him.

It was a very interesting sequence of events. I believe the Cavs signed him to a larger non-guaranteed deal so that Golden State (with their cap situation) wouldn’t be able to match and then Cleveland wanted to waive him and re-sign him for less but he then signed with us.

Pretty much this. He's not taking over the world but he hardly sucks.

Now, let moaning and whinging that members other favorite bench guy didn't get more minutes and they are being overlooked, traded, hated or (fill in excuse) continue.

He's a good insurance policy depth piece to have when there's injuries but he shouldn't be in the regular rotation when everyone is healthy. I don't think he brings more to the table than Davis/RHJ/Boucher do.

I know someone is going to bring up that RHJ/Boucher are forwards but it's not like McCaw handles the ball much on offense anyway, and RHJ is athletic enough to defend guards so I don't buy the position argument for anyone outside of Boucher.

I really think Nurse and the coaching staff are higher on McCaw than the mortify of this fanbase is. It's going to be interesting to see how things play out here. I'd love for McCaw to prove the doubters wrong(myself included).

If McCaw and TD2 could play the Delon and FVVsr. on the bench mob 2.0 that would raise this teams ceiling quite a bit.
It would also help with consolidation trades since his salary fits well with other potential trade chips.

How could anyone doubt this guy after his clutch 3 in the Finals last year?? Maybe he doesn't work out, but he deserves 10 to 15 games of real rotation minutes to see if he can do it.

I remember when GSW got him in the off-season, I am pretty sure he was torching summer league, and I thought to myself "how TF does GS keeping finding these kids?" . So since we got him I lowkey been holding out hope he can become a piece

He must be really good at implementing Nurses' schemes.
The good thing about BI is he can shoot over defenders.

Yeah he had a great battle with Norm in the summer league (Pat lit him up). He has scoring upside, but since his injury he's been a shell of himself. I'm not a fan of his man to man defense, but he's solid in rotation and covers a lot of ground.

When I watch McCaw, I see a smart role player that needs playing time to shake off rust AND for confidence gained by experience. He's a willing defender that is usually in the right places, and offensively he's not a ball-stopper, decent passer, but needs to improve his shot. He's never going to be a super star, obviously, but I think he can become a "star" in his "role" as a reserve player. I think the coaches are seeing things in McCaw that we aren't seeing in games, and it will eventually translate.

I'm a McCaw believer.

I see a guy who at this point in time is bench insurance and not a rotation piece when all are healthy. But Nurse is the coach and he likes a kid who executes well on defence and might make a couple threes.

Never doubted him. The man's been to the Finals three times and won three times. He's on GOAT pace.

People forget about that and don't realize that it's been almost 2 years since he was getting any regular run. He made a lot of smart plays tonight and he'll be getting rotation minutes, despite the wailing of the uneducated on this board.

This, he was about to come on his own but injuries happened. He returned didn't get enough playing time and once he did get minutes for a few. He got injured again!
