Not just the Celtics media machine, but the national media aswell. Media is all about narratives, and every story needs a villain. Kyrie is perfect for that role.

I'm sorry is that supposed to give them Power over Brown? does that take away his autonomy? No. He did them a favour accepting their deal because he could have gotten the same if not more on the open market.

Jaylen Brown slams the front office that just gifted him $107M for 4 years? WTF.
Weird (and stupid) flex.

He earned it. They didn't give that to him because they like him, Ainge just doesn't want to lose an asset.

I think the Nets' record with and without Kyrie is what's doing the burying right now.

It wasn't gifted he's averaging 19/7/2 and averaged 18/5/1 to make it to the ECF 2 years ago. Plus this has been the official stance of the organization hasn't it? Didn't Brad Stevens say the exact same thing?

Why are the Celtics still talking about Kyrie is the real question. Is there anyone else left on the roster who hasn't commented yet?

You almost had it, young blood. It’s “Jaylen Brown throws Ainge and Stevens under the bus; Will the Nets reunite Kyrie and Brown now that his trade value’s plummeted?”
You’re not ESPN material.

Who is Jaylen referring to here?
Probably Hayward. Brown and Rozier appeared upset with their reduced roles last season once Kyrie and Gordon returned to the regular lineup.
It was a hard situation for everyone, and you get why some of the guys might buck at the Stevens/Hayward situation given the Butler relationship and perceived favoritism, but Brown really needs to look in the mirror here. At no point in his career has he ever been remotely close to Hayward as an on-ball guy and playmaker. He should focus on becoming a consistent option rather than throwing his coach and front office under the bus.
I have a hard time believing it's Hayward because I don't think JB would take subliminal shots at a current teammate like that. Or would he? Do he and Hayward have a thing?
U mean like how he took subliminal shots at the coaches and FO?

ehh. I agree Terry seemed to regress on the court last year from 2018(especially the playoffs) but wouldn't you also have expected a lot more from Kyrie? and by all accounts Kyrie, is, was and will be a head case off the court whether it was Boston, Cleveland or Brooklyn now? Kyrie just seems to be one of those guys that has dark clouds following him a lot of times.
This isn't really about Terry's regression, it's his mentality that **** things up. I'll break it down for you.
As far as expectations as a leader goes, Kyrie absolutely failed. But as a player? He's done his part well until the series against the Bucks. That was the final straw for all Celtics fans. That "who cares" postgame interview broke many Celtics fans' heart. With that said, I'm reluctant on calling Kyrie a headcase. I can call him moody, a pseudo-intellectual, petty, amongst many other things... but a headcase? Not exactly. That's a word I refer to guys like Dion Waiters and Nick Young. Kyrie is just an absolute weirdo who functions differently than others, and that's something that rubs people the wrong way. It's just a tiring experience to go through and I won't blame the guys if they end up not liking him.
Rozier, on the other hand, was a malcontent through and through. He let that "Scary Terry" thing get to his head and became delusional. He's incredibly lucky that all the attention was on Kyrie, because otherwise people would find out that Terry Rozier was an absolute fool. It's just an assumption of mine, but if Al Horford of all people doesn't like you, then you're doing something wrong. There's this misconception that Kyrie was the instigator of everything. Nope, if you look back now, the signs were already there when Rozier refused to go to Kyrie's house party after Kyrie's announcement of resigning with the Celtics early last season. Imo, it all started with Rozier.
I'm not even arguing that but wouldn't you expect the former champion, and vet in Kyrie to be the bigger man? I wouldn't have signed Rozier to that deal he got either, and I get what your saying, he wasn't being a pro's pro. What I'm saying is I expect the guy who I traded an MVP caliber player(at that time), plus picks and assets for to be the bigger man and set the tone, not a back up who played well for a few months.
Yes, that's why I said Kyrie deserves a huge bulk of blame. Rozier instigated the whole thing and then continued to be a malcontent, which obviously affected his play. He deserves a lot of the blame that he's not getting, because no one knows what he did behind the scenes. All the attention was on Kyrie.

That sounds good, but a vet and a champion like Kyrie has a big ego, that's the reality of it. It's human nature. Superstars are only willing to sacrifice so much. Kyrie was willing to sacrifice when things were going well, but when he saw that it wasn't working, then his attitude changed aswell.
100% thats what I'm saying, you can't let kyrie murder the team moral then get mad at Rozier because hes mad at Kyrie's for acting a fool. Not saying Rozier helped mattes, also not saying it wasn't a factor in letting him go, but he was almost certainly not he main problem last season.
? Rozier wasn't mad that Kyrie was acting like a fool. He was mad that Kyrie got the starting position. That's how everything started. The guy who killed the team moral first was Rozier. As I said, he let that Scary Terry thing get to his head.

I’d point to Morris and Rozier before Hayward but I’m sure it was a collective mix.
Although Morris was actually rather decent last season, neither him nor Terry were big on sharing.
156-1 Celtics are frauds when pressure is put on them. They would have been toast if Luka was not stupid enough to foul himself out. Enjoy this ONE finals win. There will never be another with the Js and the Celtics cant afford stacked team.
Not really, but Stevens and the FO have a lot more leverage here than Jaylen Brown does. He doesnt have a NTC (I dont think) and he's not some untouchable guy. Dumb comment about a player (kyrie) who will self sabotage everywhere he goes. Unless Brown wants out the comment just makes zero sense whatsoever.

Wow, Jaylen was the last dude I thought would tell the truth (well second to last, puppet Hayward will never admit to his role in last year's dysfunction).

Guy is ballin and the team is winning so I can see why he feels comfy to talk.
I can see sticking up for players vs management. With any luck Brown may make some AS squads and around Kyrie for the next 10-20 years in NBA circles. Who knows, maybe they will be teammates again someday.
I don't think this really is about Kyrie so much as "certain guys who couldn't take a step back'
I would guess he's talking about Rozier and Marcus Morris who are no longer Celtics.....
Both those guys are playing better on new teams with bigger paydays - so he can talk about them as they would both also be happier out of BOS I would think.

Lot of Rozier blaming in this thread yet he's been great taking a back seat to emerging star Devonte Graham in Charlotte
Also when Terry got a new contract weren't Tatum and Brown first to congratulate and support him?
