Brook has been trash on offense but his numbers seem like an anomaly.
Look at how good we've been despite his struggles. If he starts getting back to those career norm levels of efficiency, look out.

Thinking about:
DJ + Brown + Bender + Pacers pick for Bogdan.
Bogdanovic has a salary that would be easier for the Bucks to acquire without giving up Ersan if that is something important to us.
He also will be a restricted free agent, unlike Bertans.
How we rate Wilson is one of the big questions in my mind. He has one more cost-controlled year before he would have to be extended, though if the Bucks would rather bring back Ersan or someone else to be the backup 4 next year, DJ could be viewed as one of the more expendable sizable contracts we have.

I don't think Utah makes that deal. They are in win-now mode and Bogdan is the best player in that deal by a wide margin.

His disappearing act in big games is getting really old. If he was good defensively like Brook it would be easier to handle. But he's just average at best on the defensive end.
At this point the Bucks are going to be ride or die for the rest of the season... Unless they find a small package where they can deal Sterling Brown for, I dont think they really move anyone. For better or worse we need Middleton to actually show up in big games and the playoffs. His track record is starting to become pretty alarming how he just fades away... while dudes like Dante out hustle, pass, defend, and rebound him. Dante is his clear and cheaper replacement. If we don't win the championship, Middleton should be moved.

Kings Bogdan, not Jazz Bojan (who I agree wouldn't do a deal like that).

From now on, can you tell us before the game starts if it is a big game or not. This is such a ridiculous bias argument I can't even.
No one would've called that game last night a big game going into it as soon as Luka wasn't playing.

The team was 17-8 right with the top offensive efficiency in the NBA right? That ain't all Luka.

The defense is built around him anchoring the middle. His effect on team rebounding is huge. He has been awful on offense at times, but he has definitely shown he is a way better three point shooter over the past few seasons than he has been thus far this year. So, he likely will shoot better the rest of the way. He went through cold streaks last year too. When he clearly doesn't have it and the other team forces a switching defense, Bud does sit him.
Missing Bledsoe really exposes the drop zone defense because Bledsoe is elite at fighting over screens and challenging from behind.
Imo Giannis could anchor the defense just as well inside (if not better) and wouldn't be a liability when forced to hedge on screens. It's worth having a discussion about.
I think the key is that Bud might not want Giannis to be the anchor; I think he likes having Giannis as a disruptive roamer.
My thoughts too. Bud wants Lopez to anchor, protect right at the rim, and clear space for boards. That way if a guard is penetrating, he has to worry about Lopez at the rim, the guard chasing from behind, and Giannis potentially swooping in from the side as well.
Giannis is best as a free safety who can fly all over instead of standing in the paint.

Yeah he is probably the only realistic target that makes sense. I also don't think trading any of those players disrupts the chemistry at all. I do wonder if that would work. Since Sac is still trying to win they may prefer an Ersan/Brown/pick package. Ersan has to be absolutely frightened that he could be moved here at some point. I feel bad for him.

Also, here ya go. Any team with a 2-1 W/L ratio or higher in my eyes is a big game, especially in the context of our winning streak where each team is gunning for us pretty hard. These are teams we could have a chance at playing in the ECF (if in the east) or NBA Finals. There are exceptions due to injury too. But to call last nights game not a measuring stick, especially for our role players would be inaccurate. Last night we got pretty amazing performances by Giannis, Dante, and Korver. The rest of the team was either average or took a steaming load on the court.

Didn't realize the Kings were so in the playoff hunt, currently holding the 7th seed in the West at 12-14.
From that perspective, for Sacramento to pull the trigger right now, they'd likely need to both:
1. Oppose extending Bogdonavic on a high dollar deal to come off the bench.
2. Value DJ (or Ersan) + Brown as lesser-paid role players for their own sake in addition to the Pacers pick.

Not sure if it works yet (haven't tinkered around with it much) but this is what I'd want to do:
MIA out: Johnson, Winslow, Waiters, Herro
MIA in: Middleton, Redick
MKE out: Middleton, Brown, 2020 IND 1ST
MKE in: Holiday, Winslow
NOP out: Holiday, Redick
NOP in: Johnson, Waiters, Herro, Brown, 2020 IND 1ST
Still light on NOP's side but both MKE and MIA probably have to chip in but you get the picture.

There were reports earlier in the year they wanted a 1st round pick for him after he turned down a 4 for 51 extension. With their commitments to Barnes/Buddy it may make sense to move him for more affordable win now pieces.

The low cost target I want on this team is Denzel Valentine. He’s a much better fit with this team than Sterling

Brook just isn't as good of a distance shooter as we hoped he was, they should work more to his strengths some time to get him going. I bet if he sees the ball go thru hoop enough he'll start hitting 3s.

Brook has been a 35% 3PT shooter over the last 1,200 attempts over 3 years. He didn't just all of a sudden un-learn how to shoot 3's.

Brook really hasn't been seeing his shot drop consistently since before the playoffs last season. It's a long ass stretch of bad shooting from him.

I'd do it, love watching Holiday and Winslow play. Middleton, not so much.
