It was too early to judge Randle.

Randle will never be a defensive anchoring big.

However he is good enough to average 20 and 10. Empty stats? We can only hope its good enough to increase his trade value so we can branch up and get assets in a future trade.

I've never considered any stats empty, but with Randle is different. At PF he compromises spacing, he's bad on defense, he still overdribbles, he doesn't cut, he stops the ball and what's more he's a terrible decision maker.

He's a good finisher. At center we have Mitch. Randle should be traded.

It’s not too early. He’s not a winning basketball player. Did u see his effort level last night on defense? Especially in the 4th? Just ball watching. No hustle , no effort.

Maybe he was gassed...no excuse imo. Get that lose ball. Box out. Get that rebound. Every position counts even more in the 4th. Just lazy on defense.

Addition by subtraction but we should try to get a little something for him. Dont know what team would need his services though

lmao, I don't trust Gallo to stay healthy enough. Probably get injured on the flight to NY. Him and Wilson Chandler have just been stealing money with all the time the missed due to injury. Gallo has been more durable in recent years but, that's comparing a donut to a tire with wornout treads.

Mills will never trade Randle this year. He has to be fired and someone else has to come in and trade him - if it's gonna happen. I doubt that goes down in-season though, so Randle is most likely staying put this year. In the off-season, if Dolan actually fires Mills and manages to bring in somebody competent, there's a real chance we can move him.

Until then, enjoy watching Julius lose control of his dribble, pick it back up, dribble off his own foot, pick it back up, and then steamroll his way to the rim to chuck up something wild as the shot clock expires.

Chris Paul for Julius Randle, Elfrid Payton and Bobby Portis. I'd rather have a vet that can teach our players a thing or two.

Julius playing a little better...trade him while you can. Portis for Batum and a 2nd rounder or future 2nd rounder.

Let randle play well for a month, we may get a first from portland for him.
I mean at this stange in his career, is kevin love that much better than randle? Granted love is shooting the 3 better than randle..
Fiz destroyed randles value early but using him wrong. Miller is maximizing his talents.

that is like a nightmare scenario.....no way they wouldn't want more picks to add to their already considerable stash and his contract runs until Cliff Paul retires from State Farm.

honestly, at surface level, the idea of a chris paul trade nauseates me, but...i do think there is some merit to the concept.

as many have mentioned, it actually might be an opportunity to acquire a 1st for the trouble of absorbing his contract. we're sending back favorable deals. payton and portis are expiring this summer, randle is expiring the following year if they want to decline his team option. because we're still "the knicks" for the foreseeable future, we might have to give up one or both of the mavs 1sts to get there, but a second lottery pick could be worth gambling on cp3. worst case scenario he's dead cap weight. so be it! we shouldn't even be in the elite FA market for a minute, and it's likely we'd hypothetically use one of our two 1sts to draft a lead guard talent anyway. best case, he's an effective mentor for these kids. he also has a player option for 2021-22 which he'd probably exercise to go play for a contender.

not the first move that comes to mind, i must reiterate, but if cp3 is the asking price for flipping recent signings into a 1st without needing to send marcus morris out...that's actually a pretty sensible look for our team

OKC is in rebuild mode too and they are or have been stacking up picks. I don't see them giving us picks for expiring contracts when they can just stand pat. They seem content to play hardball if Paul won't agree to a buyout that saves them money.

He is only effective at center. We have Mitch though. He's not a good enough shooter to play next to Mitch. Has to go.

Keep him till the off-season at least. His contract looks better at that point with 1 year and a partial guarantee for another year after. And he'll look like a better option for some teams to improve there squad after the league goes through free agency with an horrendous FA class.

Need to trade Mook now.

GET RID OF HIM PLEASE! the guy sucks at basketball. can't stop anyone on D. does not box out. goes 1 on 5 all the time. trade him for a bag of balls + a box of sneakers. just get him off the team w/o any salary cap.

Playing him at backup C and only when Mitch is off the floor should have been apparent after the first few games.

I liked the signing. Still do. I just don’t think they’re using him right and instead giving him freedom do whatever whenever. I know I’m repeating myself but using him in a role similar to Harrell would make the most sense. Don’t let him create for himself. Create for him. Don’t have him iso at the wing facing up a guy. Have him face up a guy who’s trying to recover inside the arc. Also 4 out around him.

Seems like the obvious move but the PR hit probably plays a big part in this, unfortunately
