We can defend the skill sets and project the real upsides of all of the young guys on this team but what they lack is any kind of FIRE. Maybe we're one AHole away from being a team nobody likes playing. Look at what Jimmy Butler did to a "crappy" Miami roster. I understand that Butler is a legit talent, but, more than anything, he inspires competitiveness...there's nobody on this team that wants to fight. We need a Kevin Garnett mentality to take our talented, nice young gentlemen to a level of competitiveness. Ideally, it comes from an Alpha scorer or a ferocious defender (like Smart) but, damn....these guys smile too much or look bored while they're getting their asses kicked. Pat Riley's ferocious mentality is what drives Miami's culture...our culture is cute commercials and articulate "great guys" who don't mind a nice loss. Go get a savage that calls out his soft teammates and is third man in everytime :banghead:

The talent simply isn’t there to win against good teams. Actually, have Orlando even beaten a current +.500 team yet this season? The only one I can remember was Philadelphia without Embiid.

yep, Magic are 1-13 against teams with record over .500
However, 16 of 29 other teams have negative record.

So Magic are either :
a) best bad team in nba
b) worst good team

Current roster, enterting 2020 has ceiling of 7th seed and floor of 8th seed.
Tbh i'm not sure what they can change now.
I don't think they're a lock to make the playoffs, even though Bamba has never been on a non playoff team.

Like I said before: I don't have an issue with Vuc really. But how can you see Evan's transcendent uptick when Vuc was out and his insane nosedive into the dumpster with Vuc back and not immediately think it has something (not all) to do with Vuc? -30 might be the worst +/- of our season.

Sometimes it's just how many shots you take and do they go in.
Also during his hot streak Magic played Warriors,Cavs, Wizards... not some hard tasks

Magic need offensive go to player until then nothing will be fixed . Like I have said all season solution is not on the roster . Unless there is a trade magic will be stuck beating bad teams and losing to good teams . It is what it is

Stop me if you’ve heard this before. Opposing team goes on 24-0 run in 3rd quarter to flip momentum and take the lead.

HOW LONG DO WE HAVE TO WATCH THE SAME **** HAPPEN?
A scoring guard.. never heard of one.

Two games against top teams that we should've won and we took crazy runs , the " donovan mitchell show" and that denver 24-0 run is disgusting.
We tend to melt when the pressure start to set up. We are going nowhere with the way this team is built.

24-0 run is inexcusable... where's the pride? They had to have gotten half of those points on free throws right?... only way a legit team lets another team score 24 straight points

Beat the teams you’re supposed to beat
Lose to the teams you’re supposed to lose to
Squeak into the playoffs as the 8 seed
Lose in 5
Draft a raw tweener forward with your middling draft pick
Resign your vets

Those two loses were painful, but i dont think we are going nowhere. If anything Jazz and Nuggets have low ceilings not us.
We were playing away, we played b2b and we played second and third game after Vucevic returned.
Guys this season we are playing with 21 year old point guard who has not even recovered fully. We are playing with Bamba in our rotation who cant even catch a basketball yet. We have promising young shooting forward recovering. We have all our picks. Lets try to imagine this team next year with Fultz pulling up from 3 ......... mmmm i like our ceiling. I dont really care if we make playoffs this year, late lottery looks ok. We have committed guys on longterm deals. Gordon didnt played that bad against Nuggets, but if we had one more shooter there it would be different.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

Funnies part about front officies is how it's all close -circle of same people who never actually prove competent, yet keep getting top jobs.

Scott Perry is best example of it.

Bryan Colangelo used to work for Raptors, never had any sucess, landed Philly job years later.

Chris Wallace was GM for 12 yeras ,never passed first round of playoffs. Now he is scout

Used to be Gm, used to be a coach, now he is senior vice president of basketball operations

John Paxston , guy in last 17 years failed city of Chicago and their basketball. Still going strong?

Ernie Grunfield -another GM without any sucess, who somehow last in some capacity or another in nba for almost 30 years.

Danny Ferry- did something at nba front officies from 2003 -2019. Not sure he was ever good at anything.

Donnie Walsh. This guy is almost 80 and was president of basketball operations for Pacers until 2013.

Another almost 80 years old menager, Rod Thorn, who in 2015 become special consultant for Bucks.

Jimmy was criticized for leaving a contender for his own show-"he'd rather get paid and lose"...NOBODY projected Adebayo, Nunn, and Herro as All-Star candidates...I don't think Miami's roster is as good as Butler makes it to be. One fierce, scary guy can infect the whole team...I really like our guys but they just need someone to pinch their triceps and piss them off. I used to say that to my son when I coached at the Y - he was the most skilled player on either team, but he was happy to be there. If somebody elbowed him or pushed him, he got mad and destroyed...but it could not be simulated. He was as happy as Bamba hanging out at the 3 point line, enjoying the show.
