I think it's fair to say he is playing up to his contract (apart from the lazy turn overs).

But is he influencing games? And if not, do we actually need him to influence games or to just keep doing what he is doing?

Feels to me like this is another situation where we have a "PG" who we wished was 4 inches taller and 20lbs heavier to be our perfect SG (Felton, Augustin...)

You raise a valid question. What’s his influence on games? His stats are great, but he dominates the ball and we don’t play well with him on the floor. We typically go on runs and have a better assist ratio once he’s on the bench. A lot of the focus is on Miles and how we play with Miles on the floor (and much of it is valid) but PJ and Miles are basically invisible when Terry is out there because Terry is looking for Terry’s shot and to fill stats. All of the PJ highlights come from Devonte feeds.

However, because of those stats I think if we find a team lacking a PG he becomes an attractive trade option for them and gives us a chance to capitalize. His contract looks like it matches his production right now and he looks like he can improve from there given his age. I would absolutely do a deal centered around Terry/Drummond if possible (for example). The only downside is this season it would probably lead to a lot more wins and keep us in conversation for the 8th seed as opposed to getting a top 5 pick this season and moving Terry next.

Although, JB seems to have fallen in love with his stats. I wonder if MJ/Mitch see what I’m talking about. Or if anyone else agrees with this and maybe I’m looking at it wrong.

Long term I think we need to capitalize on Devonté's playmaking ability the way Rozier has done thus far. We should trade him for a pure scorer at the shooting guard position. He holds that level of value for the right team.

Kupchak's scouting imprint looks like this:

Devonté
PJ
Rozier
Miles

5 3s in the 4th quarter last night to go along with a new career high of 35. One inch off from hitting a game winning 3. This contract is looking a lot better than all those talking heads who called it the worst one of the year.

we lost to the f'n cavs bro lmao

if terry could run a pick and roll or just drive to the paint without the fortnite dances with the ball we wouldn't have been done 20 in the first place

Lot of people to blame in this loss, but the guy who hit 4 3s in last 90 seconds and almost won the game should be at the bottom of the list. He may not fit your idea of a prototypical PG, but he contributes in his own way.

I don't see how anyone can hate this guy. He brings it every night. Not your traditional PG, but he's got moves that make your jaw drop. I look forward to his development over his contract and think he will be a pivotal piece to our future playoff success.

Hes getting paid average to below average money for a starting PG and although he goes into whatever mode at times this dude plays harder than anyone every night as if he still has something to prove. Hes not Kemba, but he plays as hard if not harder than he does.

He’s got a different type of game than most, but I definitely agree he plays with heart and has earned his money. I think we are set with him and Devonte as our future backcourt.

I kinda like the guy. He is not ball hogging too much or being a hot headed disruptor of our chemistry (the two knocks on him coming in). If we had a good center and another wing with ball skills, look out.

Scary Terry over the last 10 games

20.1 points / 4.7 assists / 3.6 rebounds / 1 steal / 1.5 turnovers

43.6% 3 pt, 86.8% ft, 58.6% true shooting, 22.6% usage

Kemba Walker over the last 10 games

20.2 points / 4.1 assists / 4.0 rebounds / 1.2 steals / 1.6 turnovers

34.7% 3 pt, 81.3% ft, 60.5% true shooting, 26.1% usage

Grass isn't always greener, or in this case browner.

Petty? I like Kemba and think the Celtics have a shot to win it all. But, he has not proved he was worth a max contract at all.

Rozier has off games, but he has still shown a improvement as the season progressed and continues to shoot much better than anyone anticipated. Part of me wants to trade him because he has very good trade value, the other part of me wants to keep him as a cornerstone for our rebuild.

Just look at Rozier's career averages before coming here.

38% fg, 35.4% 3 pt, 77.7% ft, 49.2% ts

Then 1st year in a new system with a team in a rebuild and...

42% fg, 39.5% 3pt, 85% ft, 54.7% ts

And his numbers have been getting better. People laughed at this contract at the beginning of the year. Who is laughing now? To be disappointed in what he has brought, I have to question your sanity at this point.

his contract is still an overpay no matter how you cut it. and he's lucky he's not coming off the bench tbh

I don't think this statement passes the eye or stat test. Under 20 mill for a young PG with his numbers isn't really expensive these days.
