I would say that he's only played "well" in one series, his first one with them, against the Twins (a team they could've steamrolled w/o his production).
Unless you're counting his numbers against BOS, and those aren't great...particularly if you couple those with the fact that the Yankees at one point led that series 3-0, and well, the rest is history.
Now true, by no means does it inspire confidence, but I'm certainly not going to be short-sighted and immediately assume he's doomed to fail (Soriano or A-Rod for that matter).
