Re: Around The League News And Rumors (Non-Braves)
I like this for Cleveland.
Rangers acquired RHP Corey Kluber and cash considerations from the Indians for RHP Emmanuel Clase and OF Delino DeShields.
Clase is a talented young reliever who the Indians will have under team control for a while, but this is a no-brainer of a trade for the Rangers. Kluber will turn 34 just after Opening Day and missed nearly all of last season with a fractured arm and later an oblique injury. However, he finished in the top three in the AL Cy Young voting in 2018 and is expected to be 100 percent going into spring training.

I don't. We could have had Kluber for Inciarte and a mid level prospect.

I question how productive he's going to be in the next 5yrs. He can produce or under perform in Arizona and nobody will really care but AZ fans. The media won't be a bother there.

And I guess that raises the question - does that raise the possibility that AZ looks to trade lefty Robbie Ray and his 12 SO's per 9 innings - who could be a free agent after this season.

The Angels might have a fun lineup this season. They have some other players - Ohtani and old friends Simmons, Upton, and La Stella.
Depending on new veteran pitchers like Teheran and Bundy... it'll be interesting.

Re: Around The League News And Rumors (Non-Braves)
Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic writes that the Indians are telling clubs interested in trading for Francisco Lindor that "they want each team’s best and final offers so they can make an assessment over the weekend."
"I do think (the Indians) are trying to bring things to a rapid conclusion," an executive involved in the talks told Rosenthal. The executive goes on to note how odd it is that the Tribe would place an "artificial deadline" on negotiations for the star shortstop, especially with it only being December. There is known to be serious interest from the Dodgers, Reds, and Padres, and it would appear that Cleveland might actually part ways with Lindor this winter -- maybe even before the beginning of the new year.

Interesting. Lindor's a legit superstar at SS and still young.

Francisco Lindor trade may be coming soon; Nats, Twins lead pack for Josh Donaldson
Twins, Nats most motivated on Donaldson
Veteran third baseman Josh Donaldson is widely considered to be the best free agent left on the board, and a reading of the current tea leaves suggests he may land somewhere soon. On that front, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic in his latest must-read notes column reports that the Nationals and Twins are believed to be willing to go four years with Donaldson, which should make them the dual favorites to land him

He's been phenominal the last 2 years - without a lot of fanfare.

Blue Jays came out of left field to sign him. They weren't among the 6 teams after him. Many speculated that the Braves were the secret 7th team interested. Maybe it was the Blue Jays.
