Ehm..

Lakers Bench:
75 min!!!
2/9 FG -- 0/4 3PT -- 0/1 FT -- 8 REB -- 5 AST -- 2 STL -- 0 BLK -- 10 TO -- 4 PTS

Bucks Bench:
89 min
11/24 FG -- 5/12 3PT -- 7/9 FT -- 9 REB -- 3 AST -- 5 STL -- 2BLK -- 4 TO -- 34 PTS

Lets not act like Giannis won this game. Sure he played great, but bench won this.

Giannis load managing Vs second best team in the league while being clearly the best player on the floor. I like that way of doing it!

I'm less concerned about Freak's three pointer. He's not a floor spacer - you get spacers for him. I mean, it's great he's getting better, but it wasn't that huge a deal.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Fanboys. Sure.

He is the biggest Giannis hater on this board, he dreams of Giannis having bad games so he can call him unskilled and such, dont mind him.

I wouldn't go so far as to calling it "over" already, but when was the last time that an MVP jumped out to a near insurmountable lead just 30 games into the season? Probably Curry in 2016 right? He's just annihilating the competition head-to-head.

The only player the media loves more than Giannis is LeBron. The Bucks just need to finish with a better record and Giannis will take home MVP

That could change aswell. Giannis is his replacement, and I'm starting to see some jealousy from LeBron.

As of the morning of December 20th.

PLAYER Total

Harden 12.7
Anteto 12.2
James 10.37
Butler 9.16
Doncic 8.89
Leonar 8.86
Gobert 8.48
Lillard 8.1

*This formula matches the last 8 MVP winners and 10 of the last 11, which is as far back as I've taken it.

*The minimum MVP threshold seems to be about 23.0 (Antetokounmpo and Harden were barely above this last season), and an "average" MVP seems to be about 26.

*2016 Curry was a 31.3 and 2009 James was a 33.4.

*If Harden were to play all 82 games, he is on pace for a 28.2.

*If Antetokounmpo were to play all 81 games, he is on pace for a 27.

*I'm not going to post every week like last season, and I definitely don't intend to engage in conversation within the thread. I'll probably next post either in January or whenever there's another big, relevant night like the one we had last night. Enjoy your bias, everyone! That's what it's there for!

The question is assuming the Bucks finish with the best record and Bucks take down the Lakers again in the next h2h. How unanimous will Giannis's MVP votes be over what Curry,'s unanimous MVP votes in 2015-16?

You'd have a bench too if you hadn't sent half a team to the Pelicans for AD.
I'm guessing it's probably because it's better to have AD than a bench.
Just guessing here.

Wrong Thread: Sorta

I still (and I'm sure someone with numbers can verify, or not) believe that even at the 3pt% he shot last night Giannis is still more efficient at taking it to the rack. But...BUT...the concept that he can hit them now creates closeouts. It was later in the game, but AD bit HARD on a GA pumpfake from ~28'...that type of reaction to a fluid fake will create a lot of easy opportunities for him and his teammates.

-Sends entire bench to another team.
-Complains not having bench.

Can't beat this logic.

Anyone that is surprised that the Bucks have a much better bench (as if this should not happen 90/100 games) than the Lakers needs a reality check.

I am surprised there is any resistance to Giannis being frontrunner. This feels like one of the more dominant seasons we've ever seen and his team is the best in the league primarily because of him. A couple guys are in the running for 2nd but they're little dots of dust in the rear view.

I remember when Giannis said (after last season) that he is playing at 60% of his potential (https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/27184961/giannis-says-60-percent-potential ).

I don't know, maybe he was right, especially considering the obvious improvements he could make in his game? 8-)

I'd love to see some video analysis of where Giannis has been guarded behind the 3FG line for the first month of the season compared to the last. Just speaking as someone who's watched all his games, he was given a three if he wanted by a good five feet until lately. Last night they were in his grill which is why you saw him taking 27-30 ft attempts.

If genie tells you that he can transfer James Harden's skills into you (a lite version, and your main ability will be to pick up fouls and be a professional flopper), and a 5-year contract for $100 million. Do accept his offer? Or do you reject it out of the ethical concern of not ruining the game?

I think I probably wouldn't take the offer. Its not worth ruining the game over.

I'm glad guys like LeBron, Luka and Giannis know they can abuse Harden's ticky-tacky foul-creations, but they take the high-road and refuse to win games by engaging in such unsavory behavior.

I will follow their lead.

LeBron's NBA Cup MVP is more valuable than either of KD's Finals MVPs. This is the word of the Lord

I think when it comes down to it, there won't be much. There might be a handful of voters who are looking to make a name for themselves making a public vote for someone else--there always are those guys, but unless something significant changes he's going to run away with the award and rightfully so. No disrespect to Harden, Luka, or Lebron, but based on what that award should mean it has to go to him.
