Where are all of Zubac's haters? He was "trash" after one bad game against the Rockets, but they're quiet now.

I said he's a project

and that when things are going well he's fine

he just lacks the stuff to turn a game around

Doc gave him plenty of minutes last night, incl over 9 minutes in the 3rd quarter
because he EARNED them

Steven Adams is a good matchup for him
the old fashioned slow-moving battleship centers

Doc has found a new favorite way to piss away leads and make it harder to win games: have McGruder guard the opposing PG. He's learned nothing since that Rockets loss.

I actually wish they would take away +/- from the box score lol, single game +/- is so noisy that it usually just leads to making misleading conclusions :lol:

meanwhile, after a nice first stint, Zubac [minus-7] gives back the lead that Trezz [plus+7] built up
and meanwhile, McGruder and the 2nd unit are all around plus+8-to-10

although I'd have loved to have Pat Bev tonight, who would have enjoyed erasing Shai
Bev knows every move the kid has, LOL

I don't hate Zubac, but he's back to standing around and reacting instead of taking it to them
we need him
but he's got to stay ahead of the action instead of behind it

gotta watch the running total

2nd unit has us in the game
that's mostly what you can take away

as the game goes on and the combinations shuffle, who's up and who's down emerges since the units mix

Just as I criticized single game +/- and mentioned how I wish it could go out of the box score (I'm fine with the cumulative, not individual game), the noise that is in that stat is huge, especially used in the context that one player gives up the lead while another built it, way too much going on to localize single game +/- to one player. Be careful making conclusions from the stat like that.
