Brett is just horrible, I would love for him to be let go. I know Joel Embiid and Al Horford are pacing themselves for the playoffs....... but losing a game like last night to a team bad team like Orlando is unacceptable.

I know you are just a troll, i just dont know whats amazing about this. I mean its the 5th? time in a row you lost against us

Not being disrespectful but Orlando is not remotely close to Philadelphia as far as Talent goes. Just can't take bad teams as easy wins Joel embiid and Al Horford looked disinterested last night.,

To be completely honest with you, I thought Simmons and Embiid looked like they could have cared less about this game. Embiid was allergic to the post against the defense. Honestly, he looked like a completely different player than on Christmas Day.

I’m fully expecting the 76ers to come out tonight and give the heat a GAME. Mostly because it looked like they were conserving energy. I wouldn’t necessarily say that’s a good thing for Philly. That means they are undisciplined and probably not real contenders.

He is pacing himself for the playoffs but I don't like it. He was playing at about half-speed last night.

Professional just means they get paid to do it. There's nothing to say that they're better at running a team than any random fan, other than the fact they've been given that trust from someone within the NBA circles. Running an NBA team is more luck than skill.

Yea, nothing except most played the sport at high tier...and have been fully immersed with the game for most of their lives. The majority spend years/decades learning the trade working in most aspects of FO (from scouting to analytics to strategy etc)...

...but other than that, yea any random fan has same knowledge base

While others didn't play the game and got their foot in the door because their father had relationships from his time in the business back when professional basketball was a mom and pop organization.

And for what it's worth, playing the game and running a franchise require almost entirely different skill sets. One can excel in one arena while lacking any semblance of competence in the other (Isiah Thomas).

The reality is that the expertise required to attain one of these jobs isn't the expertise required to excel in the position. There have been many NBA lifers that have failed to succeed time and again yet continue to find new opportunities within the industry. In pretty much every industry, morons are commonplace and can be found at almost every rung of the ladder. I'm not saying we have morons running our organization, but we should judge them based on their actions (or lack thereof). I'm not a fan of blind faith.

Also the magic match up great against the sixers .one of the few teams that can match the size . Sixers would win in a series but I could see it going 6 to 7 games .

We have had Vuc and Fournier as the core since Dwight left basically, and we have had poor results the whole time. Trade them for win now talent, picks, i dont care. But to keep forcing this core of Vuc and Fournier to lead our team is just straight up **** lunacy.

if it makes sense pull the trigger, but we're not going to give up pieces just because....let's give the front office a bit of credit, they're professionals.

Professional just means they get paid to do it. There's nothing to say that they're better at running a team than any random fan, other than the fact they've been given that trust from someone within the NBA circles. Running an NBA team is more luck than skill.

I literally agree with nothing in this post. Im confused as to what you are even trying to say? Do you not think our front office was appointed based on some specific skillset they possess? Cmon man, this is pretty bad.

I guess the statement is controlled by people's own experiences in life, but like a lot of professions, I think it's one that most people of above average intelligence could do. Look at film and tv, for example. With everything involved becoming so much more accessible and affordable (cheap cameras/computers/editing platforms) it's opened the market up to a bunch of people who would be considered 'amateurs' but they often make better stuff than the professionals. The only difference previously was accessibility and limited roles in the industry.

I think basketball is similar in that regard, especially with how much more prolific advanced stats are, and how well documented the game is online. The only difference between an avid fan who consumes all that and an actual GM is accessibility to owners and their resources.

Experience comes in many shades, too. You just have to look at the likes of Morey, Presti, Hennigan, Hinkie, etc to realise that being a basketball lifer isn't necessary. They were all wonderkid young GMs who weren't basketball lifers to the degree that someone like a Colangelo/Kerr/Riley/etc might be.

But like I said, my original comment might be interpreted differently depending on the level of success people have experienced in their own lives.

The NBA is an old boys' network. It wasn't that many years ago that teams were allowed to hand out seven-year contracts, but that was reduced because NBA general managers couldn't stop themselves from making stupid decisions. The CBA has been altered many times to prevent general managers from doing too much long-term damage to the franchises they operate. This is why you can't trade first-round draft picks in consecutive years.
