Yeah, but he didn't say what it was about... I don't buy it. I think there's something going on there.
His big game against the Clips too... I think kuz is pissed about something... Probably trade rumors.

I will say this though... I don't disagree with his trainer either... LeBron has been floating on his reputation as an elite skilled player for years, yet, he's really not added anything new to his game... His post work is pretty average. His shooting is pretty average. The only thing he's been superior at is his athleticism and passing and the athleticism is fading... Also, his passing rep is basically 'for a guy of his size'... He's not really like the greatest passer in the league or anything like that.
If he wants to stay elite, he needs to get in the Lab in the summer.

All that also said though... It's easy for a guy to look great against someone banged up from playing heavy minutes every game of the season, when you only play hand-picked games.
Kawhi and LeBron in GM 7 of a series... Let's talk about matching up then, after Kawhi's been forced to play some real minutes.

And on top of that, Kuz was doing solid work on Kawhi that game. So why does LeBron have to match up with Kawhi if Kuz is doing a fine job.

Not buying it.

1) kuzma doesn't have the clout to challenge any vet, let alone LeBron freaking James. That's an automatic trade .

2) LeBron is his idol and they have a relationship. He wouldn't do that.

3) the trainer works with kuz but he also worked with kawhi Leonard. Whther he still does or not, I have no clue. But there might be some allegiance there. This is the same trainer that said Luka will be a bust. He's outspoken and opinionated.

4) kuzma has been playing like ass this season. It doesn't make sense he'd question LeBron after one game when he's averaging 11ppg and had ONE good game in over a month. I don't think kuz is that emotional or that stupid.

I don't know what you mean by passing for his size? When he's averaging ten assists and I think he's either approaching or close to 10k assists.

LeBron has added an old man game mixed with athleticism. He's not money from midrange like a kawhi Leonard or has an mj fade but he has a post game he has fadeways, his mid-range is decent. Mixing those things up has allowed him to stay elite for the past three - four years.

I don't buy it's directed at LeBron for one minute.

He’s looking like what I’ve expected to see from him this season. Finally.

I’d love to beat the Blazers in their arena.

Let’s hope Kuz keeps it going in the second half now. Having that third legit threat will change everything, no matter whom he is.

He has looked the most comfortable I've seen him since last year for these couple of games. Eager to shoot and swishing them. Not sure why Vogel pulls him out when he's redhot. I hope he can continue being our third best player, providing around 20ppg on a decent percentage would do miracles for his confidence in the playoffs. I'm wondering where all those guys are now who were talking about Kuzma being untradable...

LeBron is leading the league in assists in his 17th season and will in all likelihood finish his career #3 all-time in assists. That's not a guy whose passing is only good "for a guy his size."

The limits on Kuzma are medical... that ankle/foot issue dated back to last February. When he came back 4 games ago he had a 20 minute restriction.... so if anything, Vogel has pushed him beyond that. To me, he looks like he's nearly fully healthy again. He's attacking rather than settling for the jumper. I think he's also finding a rhythm with the "big two" which has been difficult for him for some reason. He's a guy who needs to be confident and sometimes even over confident to excel. Let's hope he can keep this rolling.

Kuzma is no longer on a minute restriction. Vogel has addressed this iirc

Exactly. I'm not sure what that statement meant. You don't get 9,000 assists based on only longevity or because of size.

Maybe Kilroy can elaborate on that but he's one of the games best passers. He'll end behind John Stockton and Jason kidd.

Eh. in a game where LeBron had 13pts and went 3-10, I think critics and Laker fans can let this game slide. It's a back to back and kuzma just came back.

He may have not had his shot last night but he played very good defense. He didn't get into the flow offensively from the start for sure. Finding a consistent role for him will be the key. 3 games in a row where he got over 15 shots and then in this one he got 7 and they were spaced out.

He's a good passer... Magic was a great passer... Nash was a supurb passer.. Kidd, Stockton, etc... LeBron has a ton of minutes, and has spent almost all of them with elite talent around him to finish those shots.

Career Assist Volume is a stat that you can't really expand on or extrapolate from... It stands on it's own. Just because he has the most assists ever doesn't make him the best passer ever... Just like having the most points doesn't make you the best shooter.

Lebron is passing a ton and has 3 elite bigs at finishing lobs around the basket (Howard and McGee have always been elite at that particular aspect of the game)... It's not really surprising he's getting a ton of assists this season.

So again... LeBron is a terrific passer for his size and natural position. Maybe the best ever at it next to Magic in a 6'9" frame...

I just don't see how that takes anything away from him.

To explain your argument better, give them something to relate to.

Would any of them ever call KIDD the greatest 3pt shooter of all time? Because statistically KIDD is one of the best ever by volume.

Most wouldn’t because they remember the Ason KIDD stuff in Phoenix.

Most who have watched Bron also remember the turnovers he has, or the turnovers vs the spurs and Celtics with the ball in his hand in his career playoffs. Most know he’s a great kick ahead and 3pt passer but know he doesn’t have the full half court pick and roll vision a Kidd, Magic, or hell even a Penny Hardaway had at his best.

Lebron is damn good passing but I would not call him elite in terms of history, just like I wouldn’t call Kidd elite as a shooter in history compared to people he came up with

In my 45+ years of following the game I'd say that Magic is pretty far above most other "larger" initiators in making the pass. Magic did have a lot of turnovers back in the day a well but he also was in a much different offense.

As for true passing ability and making passes no one sees coming I'd again put Magic in that group with some unconventional guys like Bird, Maravich and Michael Ray Richardson among others. LeBron is an amazing passer no doubt but I'd not say the best.

It's a tough time right now for gauging passing... So much of the game runs through the 3pt line that there isn't really much need for those needle-threading passes guys like Magic Stockton, Nash, Kidd etc made... So there haven't really been any comparable players since Nash and Kidd fell out of their primes.
LeBron is certainly one of the best since those guys, but anyone who came after them is a tier below them and probably a couple below Magic, but how would you know if you didn't watch those guys do it live?

I think Bron is a very willing passer and that works best for him. Same with him as a ball handler.

I wouldn’t even compare him to Kobe in terms of pick and roll passing. Kobe could play with Pau and find seams that were paper thin and zip passes to guys but his instinct wasn’t to pass even though he’s number 2 all time as a triangle assist guy behind Scottie. I wouldn’t compare bron ball handling either because the two games the clips have played Beverly has literally made him walk the ball up the court back turned whenever he wants to whereas Kobe would have broke his ass off on the dribble to kill that press.

I think Bron is the most unique pieces of guys. Body like Malone. Height like Magic. Pass first mentality. Can score. Can board. But he’s not really tried to refine anything but that step back 3 which is his main go to

I just saw an interview with Kuz. Wtf happened? He use to kid around and be quick and funny and witty. Seems disgruntled and with a high sense of entitlement. Shape up the mindset or expect to be shipped out.

What interview was this?

I didn't notice different from Kuz from a mindset persepctive. I mean he had a phenomenal weekend.

He's always been sorta cocky/confident going back to last yr. .

Can't really comment but may he's frustrated with trade talks. Maybe he's frustrated with his mind? Only played like 26mins and there was no ad last game. Maybe he thought he was owed more with ad being out

I really dont know the date or time of the interview so I'm just speculating out of my ass.
