This is such a great team to root for.

You can tell defending us is like playing whack-a-mole. We have so many options. Lots of dudes that can create buckets and there is so much space for them to work in. The defensive scheming is awesome too. At one point we had Bam and DJJ at the top of the zone and they were baffled.

Herro's shooting down the stretch is so confident and pure. He is a killer and i would say he could be the second best offensive player on a championship team at his best. That's pretty damn good. He complements everyone too. Always moving, the ball never sticks with him and if it does it's a decisive attack.

D Rob continues to be this epic 6'7/6'8 shooter which nice quick feet.

Most importantly our guys fight so hard. So proud of them.Easy to root for a team that puts its best foot forward. That it has the tools and great drilling and scheming that this team does is just a massive bonus.

Dragic off the bench is sick. I wouldn’t mind signing Dragic to an MLE type of deal...

Sorry twix, but to compare Herro with Kapono is an insult imo. Herro as a 19 y kid has other aspects of his game Kapono could only dream of. Kapono became Crapono in Toronto and had no dribble nor swag like Herro. His IQ is way higher at 19 than Crapono could have ever dreamed of. Herro has a skill set and star potential were Crapono was a very limited specialist, if that.

My goodness. Sixers board is in shambles...stay away from there. They're too talented to remain sixth seed. Once Brett Brown finds a way to adjust to the roster changes or some trades are made, they'll be back up. But with what I just read in their game thread, you'd think we blew them out. The only difference in this game was ONE free throw. It was a close game on a b2b for both teams. They matchup well against Boston and Milwaukee. Very strong defensive team.

They need a better version of Trey Burke, someone like Dion Waiters.

My Internet got cut off when this happened, so can someone explain how we went from being up 2, with 1sec left, to the Sixers forcing OT, please. I seriously can't find footage of this and didn't get a response the last time I asked.

Note: In this sequence, Jason Richardson missed the FT and it didn't touch the rim, a big fuss was made about it but I can't find out what happened.

Ben got the oreb because djj didn't box him out. Tie game with .6 left.

However, Ben committed a lane violation but that couldn't be reviewed because the refs were already reviewing whether or not jrich's 2nd missed ft hit the rim.

Overtime.

I think what you read over there (I went there too, couldn't help it) was a slow burn that has been culminating for a couple seasons. They've lost a tremendous amount of wing talent the past two years, and its showing offensively. First, Marco and Ilyasova, then Butler, JJ and RoCo. That's a ton of savvy, veteran talent that they could really use right now. They are a lesser version of their peak selves, which only lasted roughly a season and a half. Not sure what their cap situation looks like, but I think they're pissed about missed opportunities with the players who've left them, and now its a game to game frustration for them knowing what they had for a roster.

It's like watching a trainwreck in slow motion for them I guess. Like us leading to the finals in 2014 and all of the bad habits that have been there all season came to roost against the Spurs.

Just finished watching it, and I must say: that was a weird sequence and three major lapses (the Butler missed FT, the Dragic foul, and the DJJ failure to box out). I think the worst part is that it won't sting and we won't learn anything from it because we won. I think a loss here would've been very sobering and they would've been better for having to experience it. I'll take the W, but I really hope they understand just how this could've easily been an L and probably should've been.

The Spurs played some damn good team ball that series. The kind of basketball I love to watch (even though we were the victims). It's what makes this team so fun to watch as Heat fan. Cutters. Ball movement. Selflessness.

As for the Sixers, I also forgot to add that having Fultz become a dud for them probably didn't help. Tatum would probably be a good player for them. Yikes.

Lastly, it was pretty nostalgic watching Rich miss free throws in clutch situations, and commit turnovers in crunch time. He did us a solid last night;)

Man, what a finish to this game.
Heartattack Heat.

Was convinced Embiid was going to get a whistle after Butler stripped the ball from him.

Herro isn't a rookie. He just can't be with how much confidence he oozes when he gets the ball

I'm still lost about spoelstra's rotations this game. Maybe the players with fresh legs aren't as adept at operating a zone defense? That's all I got. I know how you feel about Spo and I'm not trying to bait you into that discussion. But after last night's game, I can see why you feel the way you do about him. The moment I questioned his rotations last night, I thought about your post. I don't think there was an explanation for it post game either? I'm not sure. One of these greater basketball minds here can explain it.

Probably not good for the Sixers fans who are faint of heart, but I'd go all in for CP trade, then whatever smaller trades possible. A healthy CP would put them in great company, although I realize they'd also be accompanied by grave health concerns as well

Tough situation they're in with Ben, great player but obviously lowers their ceiling with his unwillingness outside the paint. He's done a hell of a job on Jimmy so far this yr and is a unique player tho. Hard to just trade him when all you have to fallback on is Embiid's health and his iffy conditioning. Per usual, I don't envy them
