On a serious note: We should trade for Ball if he's cheap. Hard to make salaries work but he's exactly the guy we'd want on this team.

I think Bucks' target should be KAT in case he asks out. Milwaukee has the 2024 and 2026 FRPs available and the 2020 Indy FRP. BroLo and Bledsoe give more value to this package. Probably other teams beat this, but Milwaukee should definitely be in the mix if Towns makes himself available.

Outside of that weird Philly game, Giannis has been looking as happy as ever. The entire team looks very happy. We have the best record in the league. It would be really stupid to mess with that.

Towns won't be available for another 3 years.

What exactly makes him the type of guy we would want?

He has been absolutely atrocious on 2 pointers and has a weird dad thing. He is shooting good on corner 3s but 34% on above the break 3s which is actually worse than Bledsoe (37%). I'm failing to see the upgrade especially given George Hill's performance so far.

In my experience, I've learned it's best to steer clear of daddy issues.

In case anyone was wondering if George Hill's amazing 3pt% this year was heavily weighted by shorter, corner 3s...

Nope:

Left Corner: 56.3% on 16 attempts
Right Corner: 50.0% on 10 attempts
Above the Break: 53.4% on 73 attempts

24 ft. or less 3 pointers: 51.6% on 31 attempts
25 ft or greater 3 pointers: 54.4% on 68 attempts

Now check this out:

54.4% on wide open 3s at 1.8 attempts per game
52.8% on open 3s at 1.1 attempts per game
Only 33.3% on tight 3s, but only .2 attempts per game

That's some incredible shot selection. Add his propensity for hitting the open lane either with the ball or off the ball and he's been pretty damn adequate as a Brogdon replacement.

And that contract.... 9.1 this year and 9.5 next year with a team option at 10 for his 3rd year.. what a masterpiece.

Does Jae Crowder have anything left in the tank?

He's only shooting 29% from 3 this season. Suspect he's still a heady defender with size to help out on big wings like Jimmy Butler / Lebron / Kawhi / George situationally at least.

Not sure if he's worth dealing the few easily-tradable assets we have (DJ + Brown let's say) though.

So CP3 asked for a trade and said he prefers a trade to the Bucks. OKC calls Horsty with a proposal and Jon says he'll think about it. Calls the video guy and tells him to do some work...

Any CP3 trade idea is gross. Keep him and his contract a long ways away from Milwaukee.

What if it was some kind of three team deal and we got Covington back instead of Galinari? That way we get back a good cheap role player who expires at the same time as Paul the year after Giannis' extension kicks in. Only slightly more per year than Bled/Middleton too.

Covington for Bledsoe should work. Minny desperately need a PG and seems like they are trying to win, clears any concern of Bledsoe going to the Lakers.

Paul and some of that pick stockpile for Middleton. (CBF looking up what those picks are but there's enough of them for anyone's taste)

Paul/Hill
Wes/Donte
RoCo/Korver
Giannis/Ersan
Lopi

It's a bit low on shot creators I guess. Clears out all non-Giannis salary other than Brook in 2022 leaving a lot of room for a post-Paul re-tool with some picks to play with to go with salary space.

CP3 hasn’t shown enough this year to even consider his contract. I do like the idea of Covington, though. I’d do this, plus throw in the IND 1st and get an OKC 2nd.

Many said the exact same thing last year and look where that got us. A happy, successful regular season does not a championship team make.

If I am trading Middleton and Bledsoe (2 very important chemistry players beyond the on the court stuff) its not going to be for Chris Frickin Paul. People have lost your minds!

I agree the cp3 tires should be kicked but if you move Middleton for him it kind or misses the point

So because last year didn't turn out the way we all thought it would, and the way it was very much looking before the overtime in game 3 in Toronto, that means this current team isn't good enough?

You can tell me you have doubts about this team but you can't base it off that... that's silly.

I would say he is better than adequate, I think he has been better than Brogdon, actually he has been the second best player of the team (in less minutes than the starters of course)

That deal on its own would be bad. That deal plus another significant deal could be very interesting.

Multi-positional defender, capable 3 point shooter, good transition plater, quick decision maker and top tier passer. A lot to like imo.
