Sure..

I was afraid you were gonna say that.

I don't even know if I can call myself a Middleton hater at this point.

I mean I hate the contract, and he annoys me sometimes, but he's a damn good player.

Towns and Covington for Middleton and Brook would work. Even if we add Indy's pick, I doubt the Wolves are that stupid.

Many said the exact same thing last year and look where that got us. A happy, successful regular season does not a championship team make.

This team was nowhere near as good last year. They are playing out of their minds this year.

IMO, the team has more depth than they really need. Player(mpg): Midds (28), Wesley (24), Donte (22), Pat (17), Sterling (17), Korver (17). We could move any one of them and be fine. If we traded 2 for 1 better player, that would be huge. Or if we packaged one with Ersan or Robin to upgrade, that would be great, too. The difficulty is finding an available player who would be an upgrade and making the $ work.

The current coaching team is pretty good. For instance, we couldn't rebound before and now we're ranked 1st and have been for some time. Brook became a rim protector. As it was mentioned above, towns has physicals and i trust our team can improve him. My only concern is his former teammate in butler thinking he was soft. Butler may be outspoken but i think he just wanted the best for towns and that team.

How?

Giannis is better.
Bench is deeper.
Donte is healthy.
George Hill is better.
Bud has discovered post play when needed.

Or is losing Brogdon, Maker, Niko, Snell a bigger loss than the above?

The whole discourse around this is so odd.

It's a make or miss league, and Khris is a make or miss player. This little push he's making right now against the Hawks and Bulls of the world should be good enough to get him his first legit All-Star appearance. He wouldn't be an All-Star on the Wizards.

And right now he's playing about as well as he can play. Still, he's not gonna get these looks in the same way under playoff intensity. And we get all the same markers of his lack of stamina in the second half with a missed dunk and a few bad turnovers.

It's not enough to look at the numbers. The context and types of situations in which those numbers occur is more important.

How can anybody hate the contract? Maybe he's not worth that much to a team like the Bulls but it was the only way we were going to keep him and he makes the team better. For the Buciks, it's a great contract.

Can you trade regular contracts for 2-ways & then covert the 2-way? How does that work?

Hell no to any of these CP3/Gallo ideas. We are merking teams with our full lineup, if we’re not getting a legit franchise player back, don’t mess with this. Possible exception being something involving Jrue/Bled

In a world where CP3 is under a reasonable contract he might be a nice insurance policy at the 1. But he is currently having the best season ever for a player at his height at this age. He may well be unplayable/broken the next two years and get paid 82m for it.

It simply doesn't work to pair him with a young and still improving Giannis.

I'm not suggesting this offer wasn't on the table; just that the Bucks could never have actually considered it.

Add donte + a future 1st to what you've already proposed and they may not hang up as quick.

Damion Lee is probably a little better than Sterling Brown, even after Warriors stat inflation is accounted for. He's on a (soon to be used up) 2-way the the Warriors seemingly don't have room to convert. Someone to keep an eye on.

How are they not better (or even as good) then they were last year?

Unless Dame (everyone not named Giannis goes on the table in that scenario) suddenly becomes available the only trades that should be discussed are Wilson/Sterling (separate, together or with the Indy pick attached) package trades. If you can get the right team to value two of those 3 you very possibly could get a guy that might crack a 9 man playoff rotation without giving up key players

Every other trade that gets suggested pretty much ends up being mostly lateral moves that risk chemistry in favor of pretty modest at best gains. Pretty much tinkinering for the sake of tinkering
