If you are a fan of the books....The Witcher is everything you could hope for and more. As a huge fan of GOT books.....I thought HBO did a really good job. I think people who have never read the books of either series would probably like GOT more....but Netflix was 100% faithful to books and video games and did an even better job of bringing the series to life... The show is based on the early collection of short stories ....when they get to the novels which are so much better.... it is going to be so good. I can’t believe I have to wait a year for season 2.

Uncut Gems is for real. Saw it tonight. 9/10.

KG can act. It's a wild ride though, the movie is so fast-paced that plot points are not developed as much. But it's on purpose.

Sandler should get the Oscar.

Going on New Years Day. Can’t wait. Get the Oscar over Phoenix, Driver and Banderas?! That’s a bold statement. Lol

Spoiler:
in the third installment, they do address that head on. Not saying it makes it any better, but at least they didn’t completely ignore that point

CATS 2: Really Shouldn't Have F**ked with Cats

Spoiler:
Heist movie where cats successfully intercept the prison transport of Luka Magnotta. Then you could use your imagination for what the rest of the movie looks like.

Might end up better than the original.

More I think about it, yeah Phoenix should get it.

But Sandler is a close second. He is that good.

Uncut Gems wasn't as intense as I thought it would be based on the internet hype but I'd still recommend people to see it.

Spoiler:
Storytelling in terms of how it was filmed was unique. Odd musical score that kinda worked. Made good use of that part of New York as if it was a character in the movie. Calls for Adam Sandler as Oscar best actor aren't that far out of a concept. He did well. A nomination isn't out of the question. Would still give it to either Phoenix or Driver though. Julia Fox is hot af. Loved KG in the movie. I didn't expect his role to be that substantial/essential. Ending was predictable. The kind of buildup they wanted was hard to sustain esp for that film duration without giving away what it would ultimately lead to.

Forget about KG in Uncut Gems. I didn't realize Gary Tanguay was in Knives Out! AND HE HAS AN IMDB PAGE with several credits on them!

EDIT: Knives Out was hella fun! Outstanding ensemble cast. How is Christopher Plummer 90 years old?? Also, Rian Johnson is my hero. His resume keeps getting better.

Knives Out was incredible. Looper and Brick are two awesome films as well.

I personally agree on the intensity, but my girlfriend and a good portion of the theater would disagree, based on their wild reactions

Spoiler:
I agree on Sandler deserving a nod. I do rank his performance third or fourth best this year. Phoenix and Driver (flip a coin) and then probably him. Julia Fox is one of the hottest women alive. Lol. As for the film, I loved it. I’m going to have a tough time coming up with a top 10 this year.

I loved it, don't get me wrong. I think Twitter unintentionally overhyped it and raised my expectations far too high.

Gonna look forward to your list. Agree, it's been a good year of film (and new TV series too).

Here's 11 on my top 10 list haha:
■ Uncut Gems
■ Parasite
■ Knives Out
■ Us
■ Marriage Story
■ Joker
■ Booksmart
■ Midsommar
■ El Camino
■ Spiderman: Far from Home
■ Avengers: Endgame

Haven't seen too many this year. But those are the ones that stood out to me. A couple were recommended by you here!

Killer list. 7 of these are on mine without me even having to think about it. I need to think on the final 3/4

It's the best role I've seen Henry Cavill in. I'm usually pretty indifferent when it comes to him, but he's got real charisma going with this. In fact the casting overall is pretty solid, at least from a talent perspective. Anya Chalotra and Joey Batey stand out in particular. Both command attention when on screen, and make for a great pairing with Cavill. The music is also incredibly well written and performed by Batey.

I haven't read any of the books, nor had I played any of the video games going in (I downloaded Witcher 3 to check it out after I finished the show) so the early episodes were a little confusing, but once I figured out the timeline it started to click. Definitely psyched for season 2
