Don't buy empty stats. Sure they can be less meaningful depending on the situation but you can't take away most of a guys work and just call it empty stats. Stats are stats. Maybe inflated to a degree but that players still did all those things. Seems like the only real separation between empty stats and playing good is if a team is winning.
If the Mavericks were trash, people would be saying Luka is empty stats.

David Stern is in serious condition.
“He is receiving great care and surrounded by his loved ones," the NBA's statement read. "The Stern family and everyone at the NBA appreciate the incredible outpouring of support. Our thoughts and prayers remain with David and his family.”
I hope he pulls through and is ok.

Jrue will leave NOP for sure. I believe he might follow Butler path without all that drama: a two way player who is not good enough to lead a bad, rebuilding team, but can find success playing within better system. Unfortunately Zion injury has changed all NOP plans. I don't think they will ask for RoCo, he does not fit their timeline. I like Jrue game so much, he is exactly this type of combo guard who might fit next to Wiggins and KAT. Having him, RoCo and Okogie will give us the players who can defend and control point of attack. Which is our biggest weakness by far. But he has only one year left of contract, injury prone.
Maybe Teague, Culver and FRP will be enough? Maybe after winning season with MIN he will re sign here? I doubt though, he will be seeking his last big contract...

OK you have made a little progress. Still if his stats are empty so are Lillard's. Whiteside is playing very well and doing everything he can to help Portland win games.
Empty stats, empty stats... I remember that you wrote once that Westbrook is an elite PG because he racks many assists, rebounds and points. We argued back then. Have you made a little progress since then?
Minimus you are just trying to cover for your being clueless when you said that HW was struggling Mightly or Mightily. There is no such thing as an empty stat. Unless you say the stats are meaningless every time a team fails to win. Whiteside's Points scored efficiently help a team win games. His Rebounds help a team win games. His Blocked shots help a team win games. As for Westbrook he was quite inefficient last year and I don't recall arguing he was elite. Every Rebound he got, point he scored and assist he made was useful. They were not empty. Every Turnover, missed shot, missed FT hurt. None of those stats were empty. They all affected the outcome of games. No such thing as an empty stat.

Brandon Clarke made 13-of-19 from the field for a career-high 27 points during a 126-122 loss to the Thunder on Wednesday, adding seven rebounds, one assist and two turnovers in 25 minutes.
He closed over Jonas Valanciunas in this down-to-the-wire loss, so clearly coach Taylor Jenkins trusts his rookie -- he closed next to Solomon Hill, too. Clarke just had his previous career-high 25 only two games ago, and he's seen 24-plus minutes in each of his last three games. He could be managed on B2B games, but clearly Clarke's growth as a scorer adds to is fantasy ceiling.

I should admit that I would love having Clarke at backup PF if we could draft him in 20s

People were saying Clarke would be trash but he's been really good. I liked all his interviews. Sometimes a guy is more than their measurements.

You really don't know when to quit when you have been PROVEN incredibly wrong. Here's another little tidbit for you from RotoWorld.
Hassan Whiteside hauled in a season-high 23 rebounds vs. the Warriors, adding 16 points on 8-of-14 shooting and two blocks without any turnovers in 33 minutes.
Whiteside has been terrific for the Blazers all season, and he's upped the ante in December with averages of 18.7 points (70.4% FGs, 80.0% FTs), 12.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 3.1 blocks and 0.6 steals. Those numbers are ridiculous and they put him inside the top-10 for roto value in December, an eight-game sample that's won a few weekly matchups for owners. He's been durable and the eventual return of Jusuf Nurkic (leg) shouldn't worry owners, since Nurk will be on heavy restrictions.

I guess those have all been empty stats as the Blazers won last night Sarcasm!
They probably lose without those empty stats from HW.

He may have T-Rex arms and be too skinny, but he's a player. He's looking like a star in the making. His efficiency is insane. 65% FG, 46% 3s and 81% FTs eFG% 68. He doesn't have the 90% FT shooting, but considering how far above 50/40 he is that's every bit as good as a 50/40/90 guy. A Shawn Marion type that might not be flashy, but totally gets the job done.

I've already moved on until you make your next comment denigrating Clarke or Whiteside.

These christmas games are weak. Blowout central.
Surprised at how good the Pacers record is without Oladipio. Pays to have a good team.

The Western conference is really surprising right now.
Somehow the OKC Thunder are looking pretty. They are 19-15 and fairly well entrenched in the playoffs right now. The Spurs have clawed their way up and are now in the 8th seed and they looked awful. Somehow the Suns and TrailBlazers have only managed to get one more win than us. That's after we lost 10 straight games. We were way ahead of the 8 ball early in the season and totally shot ourselves in the foot.
