Re: Trade Thread (TRADE WARS EPISODE V: The Empire Strikes Back)
Still feels like the most obvious trade is DLo for Drummond.
He’s likely not staying in Detroit and Drummond is a much better fit than DLo with our current roster.
Could also be done without using our first rounder, I’d think.
Can someone smarter than me confirm that it’s possible to have an extension agreed upon with Drummond that works with CBA?

it is not possible to extend him or agree to an extension with him legally, but under the table **** happens all the time
but the bigger issue is
why are you trading Dlo for a big that can't shoot?

Yeah I'd rather get Covington as the main piece back for Dlo than Drummond.
And that's saying a lot because I'm getting sick of all the Dlo for Covington chatter.

I'm not a mind reader. What are you talking about? Do you want to keep Evans like the brass?
You think it's possible to get Kyle Kuzma via Burks with Evans or WCS as fillers? I'm confused as to why you even think the Lakers would take that deal. Kyle Kuzma isn't anything great, but he's better than a 1 year rental of Burks and WCS, or Evans.
I didn't say the Lakers would do it, but they are one of the teams on the lookout for a backup PG. I saw it on hoopsrumors. Their backups at PG are Rondo and Quinn Cook and neither are getting the job done. Rondo gets injured, too. Alex Caruso helps bring the ball up at times. They do not want to take on much salary right now unless its for someone like DLo to help them this season and beyond. Thus, I don't see them as big players for a top flight PG. WCS has a decent contract and Evans was someone the Lakers brought into camp before the draft. I doubt the Warriors brass would trade Evans as he's the PG of the future or the second backup. He's the second backup today whether it's DLo or Steph as starter.

Wow bro!
You think Evans is the backup of the future? Lol.....if that's the case, them our window has slammed shut. I'm not gonna even go over why that is so dumb.
Bowman doesn't even have a contract and he's twice the backup pg Evans could ever be. So dumb on so many levels.

Not me. I said the Warriors brass did. This is what I heard from insiders.
Evans has sucked pretty much except for summer league. I think Ky Bowman has outplayed him this season. The Warriors brass' thinking makes sense as they believed in Damian Jones as their starting C of the future, Jordan Bell as backup PF of the future, and Patrick McCaw as backup PG of the future replacing Shaun Livingston. The Ws were even willing to take lux taxes on McCaw, remember? Do you see how some of their lightyears brains work? They fall for the young big guard at PG. Some of us thought Evans is a SG, but no, he's tabbed for a future at PG.
If the Warriors can get Wiseman in the draft, then I think they may keep DLo. Then they have a SL of Steph-Klay-Lee-Draymond-WCS and backup of DLo-Burks (?)-GRob (?)-Paschall/Omari-Wiseman. Then Evans is expendable and could be traded as DLo is a true big backup PG and can run the pick and roll with Wiseman. Yet, I doubt it and they may keep Evans as third backup PG and trade Bowman. Egads!
ETA: I forgot about Alen Smailagic. If he can become a starting C like Jokic, then the Ws could keep DLo, too. However, we have not seen him play in 2019. 2020 could be a breakout year for Smiley (?).

They're not paying max salary to DLo to be a backup. Unless it somehow works out with Steph, Klay, and DLo starting, he's getting traded.

If the Warriors bras stated that Evans is the future PG or backup PG for the Warriors, then ima change teams. I can't follow such incompetence again, that's Chris Cohan era wank stain thought process.

Evans hasn't been impressive in this season's games, but I figure Damian Jones wasn't either and still he kept his job. Maybe Evans did have one or two double digit scoring games. I don't remember. Ky Bowman seems like he should be the backup PG, but he's still a two-way contract.
This could be the game the brass is going by as what Evans can be either this year or next year. What's nice about the vid is Smailagic. I can't wait to see him when he plays some games.

Who else is the incomparable jb?
I don't watch all of the Ws games as I used to. (Even if I do, then it's bits and pieces with my life.) They are unwatchable this year. I'm a fantasy NBA players, so try to watch several teams.
Well, I could just let the general board know and keep it to myself. I don't get these insider infos often, but this is too legit to quit. Big PG. Jacob Evans is the next Shaun Livingston.
I suppose it's like getting a mobile C who can rebound and play defense. That's why I mentioned Smailagic, too. I heard nothing on him, but high expectations. He's another the Warriors are banking on. Could he be another Nikola Jokic lol? It's like their trying to mimic the Spurs (Kerr and Pops connection) with their low round draftees.
Anyway, I'm leaning towards going all in on Wiseman. I rather have watched a few more Wiseman games; he's a scorer first and defense second. He would be great with DLo. Before, it was Antman, but now rather have Cole Anthony or even LaMelo. I'd have to watch a lot of LaMelo and prolly drink a lot of Jack to say yes to him. We know he's got no defense while smaller Cole does. So right now, it's Wiseman and Cole Anthony for me. ++++++++++++++ to keep away Obi Toppin.
(What it could mean is if they draft a SG, then he could be a future PG. Look at Poole. I have no idea if he could be another PG candidate, but all he's good for is being a tank commander this year.)

1. It’s comical to consider Evans as ever being in the same class as Livingston. Livingston was 3-4 inches taller Than Evans is, which was huge since the size advantage allowed him to post up any other guard and hit his 6-8 foot short midrange shots, or to rise quickly for dunks when slashing or on putbacks. Evans plays at a measured pace, as Livingston did, but hasn’t shown anything close to developing the same set of skills that Livingston has, and he simply doesn’t have the physical differentiator that Livingston had.
2. It’s comical to compare Smailagic to Jokic at this time. Jokic is probably one of the top 2-3 passers the league has ever seen from the center position. Smailagic looks promising, but to say it’s a stretch to put him in the same sentence with Jokic is an understatement.
3. What is your definition of “a few”? Wiseman only played 3 NCAA games, which ones did you watch? I agree that from a long-term fit perspective, he’s probably the best fit for the Warriors amongst the top few prospects, but it’s going to certainly take him (or any other young center) at least 3-4 years to hit “peak skills” at an NBA level.
If I don't have anything funny to say, can I still have a signature?

Re: Trade Thread (TRADE WARS EPISODE V: The Empire Strikes Back)
To Jason.....Don't make player comparisons and talk about how guys are playing and who should be on the team vs who, when you don't watch the games. Its embarrassing.
Most if not all of us commenting on players and moves are at least watching and following.
You and I think CDubbs do this and its so annoying.
I mean you took the time to go and find the Jacob Evans lost tapes, bit you can't even watch to see that he's actually playing like hot garbage, and being outplayed by 2 2-way players.

Trade announcement after today's game???
Not likely...but just watching the team lose is sort of boring....
So give me a blockbuster that is NOT having Wiggins coming to the warriors.

Why talk about Evans? Well, he's on the team, he's got a guaranteed salary for next year, and the FO is going to have to decide if they want to spend a roster spot on him. How will they know what to do unless we talk about him?

This is why I wanted to post it. Evans is garbage in most fans mind, but don't think he's going to be traded. I wish he was. Just like I wanted Damian Jones out of here ASAP instead of JaVale. I wish he could be traded to the Lakers as one of the teams looking for a PG in Burks.
