I looked at the boxscore of the Celtics game and this immediately jumped out: Kanter with 13pts, 14rbs, 2ast and 6 blocks in 23 minutes.

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

fluke?? Honestly I think Kanter has matured a little since he was a young Jazz player, but 6 blocks is definitely an exception to the rule.

And in 23 minutes...
I just watched those plays, there were 2 legit blocks and 4 times he stripped the ball at waist-height and it apparently counted as blocks.

interesting! I would think the waist-height would be steals??

I would too but here we are. Maybe it counts as a block when there is no change in team possession?

Sad news: David Stern had passed away. He did so much for the game and as a bonus screwed the Lakers in that canceled CP3 trade. He will be missed.

I don't know if any of you have been following the Pelicans and Favors but he is finally healthy and playing great basketball which has led to the pelicans looking like a completely different team. If they end up getting Zion back sometime this month then I wouldn't be shocked to see them make a push for the 8th seed and I sure as hell wouldn't want to face that team in the 1st rd.

They are such a different team with Favors in the middle...... He just does all the little things on both ends of the court to win......

All-Star 1st return voting is published and it's pretty disgraceful.
It's one thing for Steph Curry to receive a lot of votes even though he's been injured for most of the season, or that Russell gets a lot of votes even though his team is the worst in the league and he's missed about a third of the games. But Alex Caruso, Dwight Howard and Tacko Fall? Really?
Gobert is once again at the mercy of the coaches as he's not even appearing in the top 10 of the front court players. We probably all knew he won't get in by fan votes but this is just plain disrespectful.

Is Donicic first European player who got first place here? Anyhow I'm rather pleased to see Harden pushed from the top rung.

It's a tall order, but I would love to see Favors and the ex Laker players pull off an upset over AD and the Lakers tonight. AD dropped 41 points on the Pelicans in the two teams only other matchup, but that was with no Favors and rookie Hayes starting at Center. The Lakers are favored by 10.5 points. The game is on ESPN.

Jazz player disrespect aside .....Good he*l the East is terrible! Look at that list! There are a handful of bench players on that list. Young is top guard in the Least, and about 10th best in the West. Rose? Hayward has played 15 games (and not at an AS level). F-ing Fall? Kyrie has played 11 games! Bam essentially has D-Fav career numbers, etc, etc. I don't think there are 8 All Stars in the Least, let alone 12.
In the West it's a conversation about how can you leave some of these guys out & the upcoming snubs, where-as in the Least it's simply trying to vote for 12 players with a straight face (....Tacko Fall, ya'll!).
Fans are dumb (Melo, Curry & Caruso? Really?), and should have ZERO say in the All Star voting, but the NBA not stepping in and at least doing something about the West/East issue is absurd. These players have incentives in their contracts based on All Star appearances. There are players, like Gobert, who stand to lose big dollars simply because the League is too lazy to fix a decade old problem that could be handled in a 1 hour meeting. Even something as simple as 10 from each conference, then Wild Cards, could provide a 4 player swing away from Eastern trash ending up in the All Star game over much better Western Conf players.

Sorry, but this year East is pretty much on par with west. With the exception that best East team is quite a bit higher in standing.
Actually this and that now 8-th place in the West features 14-19 team level is most striking features of this season

Favors got two early fouls in Q1 and probably went out earlier than expected, coming back in with the Pelicans down 12. Favors ended up with a good stat line in 34 minutes of action (15 pts on 11 fga, 14 rebs, 4 oreb, 4 blks, 2 ast), and was the only starting Pelican with a positive plus/minus at +8, but LBJ's passing (15 ast), Davis' shooting (46 pts on 21 attempts) and Danny Green's three pointers (6-10) shooting killed the Pelicans. Lakers win 123-113. Grrr.
I was hoping that Rubio could overtake Lebron for season assist leader, but Lebron is widening his lead. Now he is at 11.0 apg.

He played some good games for us, but he was pretty inconsistent. He had more horrible games than good onesred4hf wrote:Crowder with 27/8/7/3/3 in a rout of the Clipps in LA.......

Thats true, but I wonder who would be better on this current Jazz, him or Conley?

He is better than niang, and without conley playing I guess him. But he wouldn't playing niang minutes, so probably we wouldn't be better with him chucking some horrible 3sred4hf wrote:FJS wrote:He played some good games for us, but he was pretty inconsistent. Crowder is shooting 29% from three, we do not miss him for the role he would be playing.

Plays better D but not near the pure 3 ball shooter. Which is huge for Jazz. Night Jae would shoot us out of games. Not gonna happen with Niang.
