OT- Carmelo

They guy is absolutely delusional. He is hoping the Knicks (who may be stupid enough) will retire his jersey.

The guy did nothing for that franchise that would be worthy of retiring a jersey. He just scored and sucked up cap space. The Knicks were 28-26 when they traded for him. They ended the season 42-40 and were swept int he 1st round. In his first full season in 2011-2012, they went 36-30 in a lockout shortened season. They started 18-24 before firing No D D'Antoni. They finished 18-6. They were bounced in the 1st round 1-4 (started down 0-3). In 2012-2013, they Knicks won 54 games and a 1st round series before losing 2-4 in the Semis. The Knicks never won more than 37 games/season after that.

Would be some very low jersey retiring standards if they do it.

There are no standards for retiring jerseys.

If they want to, so be it. But I really don't givve a **** and I have to ask not trying to be rude why is it being posted on the clippers board?

Standards are usually accomplishments, longevity with the franchise, or something catastrophic (e. g. Reggie Lewis). So this thread is about Carmelo, but what Clippers should have their jersey retired? Right now, I am in the no one camp, but DJ is a possibility from a longevity standpoint.

If this current teams wins a title, then I might consider Chris Paul because his requesting out of here garnered us the pieces to build this team. Other than that, CP didn't have longevity and his teams here didn't accomplish anything. 12 of 15 teams in the WC made the playoffs while CP was here, so making the playoffs wasn't hard. Out of of 6 playoff appearances, we were knocked out in the 1st round 3 times (with HC advantage). In the 6 playoff appearances, we only had one 1 series where we won the series not having HC advantage (Vinny's 2011-2012 team).

Carmelo may make the HoF based on career accomplishments, but he just didn't do much for the Knicks themselves.

Bob McAdoo Jersey should be retired. The only MVP of the franchise.
