They are near the luxury tax so taking less salary might be appealing for 10-day contracts and buyout players to add. Also Stanley is a negative asset

Would do Gasol and Powell for Drummond and whatever filler is needed. Would be nice to get Powell off the books and finally having a Center who can rebound.

I keep seeing people offering Ibaka instead of Gasol but that would make zero sense. Gasol and Drummond together would be pointless. Drummond and Ibaka could actually play together on the court.

Gasol is too important defensively to trade him for Drummond.

I disagree. I think the defense has been fine without Gasol. Gasol is an abysmal and useless offensive player. I don’t know what the hell happened to him but he can’t score anymore. Its like somebody stole his offensive talent. He’s really just good for positioning and plugging up the paint.

There is no way the Raptors are getting Drummond without giving up either OG or Powell along with Ibaka. Whoever is posting deals where the Raps get Drummond for Ibaka and spare parts need to rethink it a bit.

A deal that might work is

Ibaka + Powell + SJohnson for Drummond + Snell

Drummond give us that rebounder we solely need and Snell is a decent 3 + D SG/SF that'll replace Powell. I'd likely be asking for a 2nd from Detroit too...but deals like this are more likely than Ibaka + Johnson + McCaw...nobody wants McCaw..lol

Unless we're just swapping players ie/ Ibaka + SJ or something, I have zero interest in trading any picks unless they're 2nd rd.

It would almost certainly push Gasol to the bench which I'm not huge on personally and my greatee issue is using assets for what I believe would cause a minimal improvement and are we gonna pay him??

Sorry but I wouldn't tie near max money into Drummond. I rather overpay a guy like Bogdan or something.

No he had a good couple of weeks. You trade him without hesitation. He’s extremely replaceable. Hell Terrence Davis is probably already better than him he just didn’t get that playing time.

Not sure I’d like the lane clogged for Pascal on offence. Pascal is a good big to big passer so there is a world where it could work.

Another concern would be if Drummond can stay on the floor vs stretch 5’s.

I always find this stuff funny. When a player is playing well and has good value, we should never trade him. But when he's playing like crap and his value is at the very worst, we should flip him asap. It's like people think that other GM's don't watch other teams play lol.

Masai doesn’t leak. And he certainly wouldn’t leak that Drummond is buddies with Lowry. So this is coming from Drummond, who must have seen Thompson all but begging to get traded to the 6.

Drummond will demand the max or near max. Considering how bare the free agency class is (he's literally the only 'stud' on the market), he will get it. He's also been very vocal about getting every bit of that max contract.

5 years $190M is what we're looking at to re-sign him. $38 million a year for Andre Drummond.

Classic case of do not touch. You could sell me on this proposition if we were success starved for a decade like the Kings, but even then I'd be apprehensive. There's a paradigm shift in how to win in this league at the highest levels, i.e. Finals, and Drummond is not the type of player that you can play in those situations logging 35 minutes a game. Let another team have him, grab the popcorn, and enjoy from afar.

Drummond is a AS C, I would def trade Powell and Ibaka for him no question. We need help on the boards so bad, we lost a bunch of games this year due to that weakness. He would fit into that 25-27 age range with Pascal and FVV too for the future as well.

Is this passing as “sources”. A guy told me Lowry and Drummond have a “relationship” therefor the Raps are interested in a trade. Tweet that **** out.
