Most of these trade ideas make no sense. If they move him, it’s to rebuild so they’d obviously be looking for picks and young talent - giving them Ibaka plus filler is such a ridiculous idea. The reality is there aren’t many trades we would be able to offer that would make sense for both parties unless we want to give up a pick.

If the Raptors are showing interest there must be a reason. Masai is one of the best execs in the league.

If you just think Drummond is bad then sure don't trade for him, but what's the plan b if Giannis isn't coming? He's the best player in the league and we're kind of acting like it's a done deal.

Gasol and Ibaka are a solid big man combo for this year and maybe next but not after. Siakam and VanVleet are 25 and they're ready to win. Drummond is 26 and would seem to pair well with them as a big who moves the ball and can run the floor. Yes it's a treadmill move. It's a plan b move. We're going to need to hit on someone else with our player development in order to be really good again but that doesn't mean we just let everyone expire and take fliers across the board, or keep re-signing our old guys well past their primes.

how many picks turn into a good 2 guard average around 15 ppg on good 3 point shooting percentages, can slash and pass and also defend on the perimeter

Gasol > Drummond, which sucks because I'd love to upgrade at this point but not for avocado head when we have his daddy who we got for his older brother (JV)

Earlier in the season Drummond stated that he plans to opt out after this season. Which makes sense, the 2020 free agent class is terrible and he's more likely to get paid next offseason when there isn't much talent out there.

So he's either a rental or you're signing him to an expensive 4-5 year deal. Neither option seems all that appealing. I'd rather just sign Gasol and Ibaka to big 1 year deals like Lowry and take my chances in 2021.

If the Raps are concerned about rebounding, they just have to play bigger lineups like they did against PHI in the playoffs. Rebounding was an issue, then Nurse went big and it wasn't a big issue anymore.

Not that many. Maybe the first loss to Boston, but we also had 23 turnovers. The loss in LA to the Clippers was another poor rebounding performance, but that's expected when undermanned and on a B2B. Three-point shooting variance has accounted for more of our losses: both games against Miami, 12/39 against Houston, 8/36 in the Kawhi ring game, 11/40 against Indiana. Drummond certainly won't help in that regard.

1. He's not a good defender. If you like net rating, he is a negative and almost the same as Ibaka. Gasol has a much, much better net rating. https://www.otgbasketball.com/post/2019/01/03/mythbusters-series-andre-drummond-is-a-terrible-defender
2. He's not good on offense. He has no outside shot. He would not work well in our system because he does not stretch the floor. He doesn't have soft hands. He's a better rebounding Ibaka with no outside shot on offense and a slightly better power game.
3. He's not mentally strong. This shouldn't have to be explained. There are a lot of people with real estate in his head including Gasol, Embiid, JV, etc. He's very immature. Somewhat unprofessional. He doesn't fit in our locker room at all, he's like the opposite of FVV.
4. He's not a winner. When has his teams done anything but underachieve?

Are you trying to suggest that they would trade Drummond for Norm Powell instead of asking for a 1st rounder?
