Re: [Goodwill] Raptors Showing Interest In Andre Drummond
We can't give up norm in the deal. The east runs through the bucks and he's our most lethal weapon.
Maybe we would trade expirings?
Fvv+Stanley+rhj for Drummond and rose?
This pretty much solidifies our front court, reunites Casey with fvv,, also avoids us from paying fvv this off season. Rose can play backup pg or SG . Since he's on minute restrictions you can create more PT for TD.
Rose can easily be slotted as our end of quarter shot taker or at least be a decoy for siakam to penetrate with his speed.
I doubt any trade happens since we don't leak but Casey can easily spread the rumours

Wtf is with these people.
Detroit would want the likes of OG/picks for Drummond..do you see this as a upgrade over Ibaka? Maybe in regards to empty stats.
A core of Pascal/Drummond would be the great future Raptors team...it's crap.

Drummond is about as useless as a 20-20 guy as humanly possible. No thankyou.

One of the things that made Kawhi so good in the playoffs last year was him taking it upon himself to make sure he was grabbing rebounds. His ability to keep plays alive in the offensive end as well as the clutch rebounds he came up was the difference in winning the Bucks series. Our bigs were just not rebounding at a high enough level and he saw that and made it his priority. Once again rebounding is a problem this season. Board man isn’t here to save us. Rebounding needs to be addressed and Masai knows that. Thats why you’re hearing names like Tristan Thompson linked to the Raptors and now Drummond.
eeeeeeeeeexactly, all these braindead nerds want shooting, outside threat, defence, bla bla bla, yo morons this guy is the best rebounder in the league.
answer me this: what is the point of having really good defence and making opponents miss shots (multiple shots), WHEN WE CANT EVEN GET THE BOARD AND GO OUT AND RUN! how many times have we seen our elite defence be so effective, only to struggle getting the rebound then the opposing team getting an open three or a dribble drive
Well, if we put Drummond in and he gets scored on at the rate he would, there won’t be a rebound ...so that should fix it.

Drummond and Rose for Ibaka and FVV. Detroit gets two expirings.
TDII gets to develop under two great PGs. We won't have to see ridiculous two PGs starting line up rest of the season and avoid $55M+ PGs line up next year.
If Drummond opts out next year that will be fine too.
Or Ibaka for Tristan is another sound option.

Any inquiry is probably dead in the water now. Not to say Doug has big influence but hes a notable figure in the media room.

He'll get traded to the Hawks and that team will still be crap.

His rebounding might not even be his best attribute.
He averages 2 steals per game AND 3.5 deflections per game. He's one of a few big men in the top 50 here, and it'll be more noticeable when he plays for a new team.

"I definitely knew he traveled, but I didn't know they were going to call it. That was one of them situations in which a great player made a move...and they called the call. And I was like, 'Oh, man, there is a God.'

I'll trust Masai I guess. I mean we wouldn't have rebounding woes anymore, but Drummond personally doesn't fit as well as Marc Gasol. And for that reason I'd rather roll with Marc and see what we accomplish, and if we make a nice deep run maybe Marc comes back for a discount. Andre's still young and wanting the big bucks, Marc's probably more okay with chasing more success and having stability at this point in his career, but I don't know. And overall, I'd rather have Marc, he's more of a championship player imo than Drummond. I'd love to be proven wrong though so I'll trust in Masai like I said.

People are underrating Drummond here.
I haven't seen a big-man with his size, speed, athleticism and fluidity since Shaq. If it costs you Ibaka and spare parts, that's definitely a deal you have to consider.

Go to the Pistons board, they know that hes not an impactful player, an elite rebounder sure but not worth real assets.

I'd probably take the flyer on Drummond over Ibaka for the duration of their contracts tbh.
Detroit has been a joke the entire time he's been there.

The Raptors could keep Gasol and bring him off the bench. This would be an opportunity to acquire star talent at a discount, because his UFA status will keep teams from offering legitimate future stock into him.
Boston wouldn't offer that Memphis pick, which will be a lotto pick and iirc is unprotected. That could be the #1 overall pick. At best they can offer a selection of their ****-ass prospect pool, future firsts and maybe Gordon Hayward. Is Detroit going to think Gordon Hayward heading into his 30s is the solution to their problem.
Atlanta has zip. John Collins is their best prospect and he ostensibly plays the same position as Griffin. They could offer up Hunter, but he's not someone with star potential, and they invested a #4 pick on him. I doubt they'd really be interested in coughing that up for a guy that could walk.
Dallas has nothing. No good young players. They just have spare parts.
The Raptors could centre a deal on Fred VanVleet, who Zach Lowe said Detroit will already throw a load of money at in the summer, and Serge Ibaka. They can offer the nominal first that all the other teams will offer. If Drummond walks it's the same risk as if Fred and/or Serge walked. Detroit would get win-now players to make that run for 8th, but with a lead on a young player they think could change their franchise around.

I'd rather have Gasol or Ibaka than pay Drummond.

Re: [Goodwill] Raptors Showing Interest In Andre Drummond
I call BS on these Toronto rumours. His agent is just trying to get him out of there.
I would not trade Ibaka unless Masai has no intention to re-sign him, or he thinks Ibaka will command too big of a contract in the offseason. The thought of adding our pick doesn't sit well with me, I'd rather us keep it (Give me Aaron Nesmith from Vanderbilt).
Most likely scenario is that not substantial trade happens. I could see both Ibaka / Gasol being brought back on 1-year deals and we run it back again, if not, look for some value FAs. There are some decent players available if we go that route.
A trade I put together (for fun) where the salaries matched:
TOR: Drummond ($27.0) + Snell ($11.4)
DET: Gasol ($25.6) + Powell ($10.1) + McCaw ($4.0)
Detroit gets to dump Snell on us and they get Powell and McCaw beyond this season (Gasol signs elsewhere in free agency). Losing Powell would leave a big hole for us at the 2 spot though, forcing TD into the rotation more consistently. For Detroit, can they get more than Powell and McCaw for rental of Drummond?
