Re: 2020 Draft Thread
1st round picks aside I think this guy Aaron Nesmith a 6-6 wing from Vanderbilt would be an awesome 2nd round pick. Nesmith is averaging 23ppg as a Sophmore while shooting 50% from 3p on 8 attempts per game. Funny enough his projection is a poor man's Klay Thompson, probably why I like his game but I see more Buddy Hield. Considering his off ball ability and being a plus defender he would be entertaining in lineups with Steph and Klay.
One thing I have noticed with us kind of flopping on wing picks like Evans, Poole, McCaw is that these guys weren't prolific scorers at the college level so why would they be good at the NBA level? I think all three are passable on defense but offensively they just don't have the game to get big minutes.

I'm a fan of his as well, but he's gonna go 1st round, with a chance of sneaking into lotto.

Re: 2020 Draft Thread
If somehow the Warriors go on a little run and ruin the tank, thus picking in the 10-14 range... I'd definitely have Nesmith on my shortlist of targets.
Or, as a trade back option if we are top 5 or so but not able to get Edwards.

Re: 2020 Draft Thread
I feel the way about Scottie Lewis that I did with Blake Griffin his freshman year....
Really want him to leave for the draft since that puts him in more of a 5-15 range than what seems like a top 5 lock if he stays for his sophomore year.
If we go on a little run, especially with Steph back, and end up closer to 10, we would be very lucky to snag Lewis.
I think i'm going wing crazy but would love to turn some assets into Lewis, Nesmith, Bey and let Evans and Poole move on. We need to land some starter/rotation level wings, and 1 or 2 of those are sure to hit.
Dream scenario as of today (will change a million times i'm sure) would be to have someone fall in love with Wiseman or Ball and we somehow land a top 3 pick. Move back 5-10 spots and pick up another first. Grab all 3 of those guys with our picks (especially if we can use our 2nd + any assets we get from Burks/WCS/etc to move up a bit for Bey).
I'm not as concerned with bigs because thats what i'd use DLo for. No time to wait for a big to develop, whereas wings can be a bit more plug and play out of college (not looking at you evans and poole).

No way we make it 10-14. Last year 10-14 was 36-39 wins. To win 36 we would have to go 27-21 to finish the year

Have faith in a 20-0 run when Steph comes back, 8 seed, beat both LA teams, first ever championship tank team.

I’m Wiseman, Edwards, RJ Hampton, or bust....at least for right now. Maybe someone else catches my eye between now and the draft.

Re: 2020 Draft Thread
There's a lot of players in the back end of the lottery who might turn out good, but it's mostly going to be a crapshoot. Interesting to see how the Ws play it when the time comes. I agree that we have been picking for defense over offense the last couple of years. Might have to change that, but front office may also have plans to pick someone up at trade deadline or after the season to be a shooter off the bench instead of trying to draft one.
I also haven't given up on Bell, and I think Paschall's shown plenty. I love his touch on the mid-range.

Coach Kerr ought to get fired if he ruins the tank. Get Poole & Smiley some big minutes for experience!!

Has Mitchell already reached his ceiling? Or can he drastically improve still?

Re: 2020 Draft Thread
Finally watched Paul Reed play a full game, and that jumper ain't gonna fly from NBA range.
I still like him as a mid/late 1st guy just because he does so many other things, but he's likely going to max out as a good/great role player unless a team is convinced that he can alter his mechanics on his shot.
Currently i'd lean slightly towards Tyler Bey as my late 1st combo forward just because 1) his jumper seems more capable of extending to nba 3, and 2) love his potential at guarding positions 1-4 when needed.

I like Edwards a lot and watched a video of him breaking down his own plays and he is a smart player for sure. He is def in the Oladipo/Mitchell mold.

Re: 2020 Draft Thread
Still waiting for Edwards to do more than just look good in his uni.
So far he's been very underwhelming overall. Definitely not living up to the hype as of yet. Not sure what he's waiting for. Might be team dynamic, but he's just kind of floating through games and not having big impact.

Awesome to have a draft thread worth going through again
Sucks we don’t get to see Wiseman though. I’d guess he’d still be my #1

Re: 2020 Draft Thread
Isaiah Stewart with some impressive games.
24points 11r 5b v UCLA
25 8 2blks v Houston
If Warriors land outside a top 4 -5 pick I like him. Big mobile strong body. Love his physicality inside the paint, he runs the floor well.
