Trading down would be best this year. I don't know if Gettleman is the kind of guy to make a move down. He is more likely to try and move up.
I would normally agree about taking another CB but Baker was a huge dud his 1st year and it is still a huge hole the Giants need to fill. Okudah looks like a real deal lockdown corner.
unless the giants can get to the QB the corners mean nothing.
And baker wasn't good but Corner is probably the toughest position to adjust to in the NFL. They are way too young in the secondary to begin with. I would rather pay a vet corner. Trade down and get OL/edge rusher/linebacker in the draft
Agreed.
Too bad there is a grand canyon sized gulf between Chase Young and the next best Edge rusher in this class. But getting Shurmur a feel good win before firing him was worth it, I guess.
If we are going with an OT, we need to trade down. Especially if Getty prefers Wirfs to Thomas.
I have been reading more and more than Thomas looks the part but if you watch his tape he isn’t as good as he is being mocked. Kinda like Flowers a bit which scares me.
Wirfs seems like the most sure fire bet but he’s on a RT but I’d you can lock down that position for the next decade you do it. You just have to understand draft value and trade down because wirfs isn’t a top 5 pick.
I guess right now I’m hoping for Simmons or Wirfs in a trade down scenario and acquire extra assets on day 2 because this roster need a a lot of help.
My concern is that Gettleman has never traded down. And the man is nearly 70...he’s probably set in his ways. But a QB hungry team and the draft value not falling in our favor. Burrow and Young go 1-2. Then the CB from Ohio state and the auburn DT are the next best and we can’t really invest in either position again that high.
