Re: Trade Ideas Thread, 2019-20
I think the Celtics should go after WCS. He has the versatility to fit our defensive scheme and rebounds well. At 2 mil it would cost us nothing and easy to fit in.
Hayward for Redick and Favors works and would rebalance our roster with a great shooter and a big coming back. However, I say pass on that.

"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

That being said brown can’t be traded this year and with our salary construction it makes any real trade hard as we would have to lose a player of importance and quite frankly I don’t see anyone available this year that would jump us into the tier 1 team level.
Enjoy the ride, let Tatum turn into the star he is- Hope brown does or at least maintains this level of play and then next summer we trade him for someone who can elevate this team to a real contender. This team is a joy to watch and I love them but baring injuries to 3-4 teams above us we aren’t winning anything this year
I disagree. I think this team can absolutely win the title. I could be wrong, but based on your post it seems like you are still not a complete believer in JB/JT in terms of them being ready for a title. so you're basing this teams upside on how far Kemba/Hayward can carry this team. Is that fair of me to say? I am on the other end. I see JB/JT and I cannot find a better wing duo not named Kawhi & PG. JB/JT are 2 of the best players on the floor MOST games. and they are 2-way players. Then you add in Kemba/Hayward. This team can go as far as they believe they can go. If the teams mindset is "we can win the title this year", then they are absolutely capable of it. When I see this group play I see a team that is rapidly getting better and better. Even on off nights on the road they are taking care of business. A star down, they are taking care of business. There's been very few lapses thus far on the season. 25-8 and they haven't even had their core healthy together for the majority of those 33 games.
This team is better 1-5 VS Milwaukee & Philly and everyone else in the East.
Bucks VS Celtics
Kemba > Bledsoe
JB > Matthews
Tatum > Middleton
Hayward < Giannis
Theis < Brook
Smart/Kanter > Hill/RLopez.
Bucks have better spacing. Celtics have better star power 1-4.
That is a 7-game series.
Philly is self imploding. as of right now they would face Bucks in the 2nd round. I agree that from a match-up perspective they aren't a good match-up for Boston RIGHT NOW. but I think come playoffs Boston will be much better.

problem with this is that the Lakers aren't looking for young players and/or picks. They want a veteran that is ready to help them win a title in exchange for Kuzma. The Celtics don't have that piece....A team like Memphis could get in on this.
Crowder/Brooks to LAL for Kuz/Cousins. Cousins in there for cap purposes. Lakers get 2 wings that will defend and contribute in exchange for Kuzma. Memphis does this to add Kuzma to Morant/Jackson.

He has potential but the problem is he’s always hurt. I would almost rather have Tacko as the third center. I also get Kuzma is one dimensional but we wouldn’t be asking him to be a starter. Scoring 10-15 points off the bench is valuable. But I can see both sides to the argument.
Kuzma is 24.5 years old, about to be a fee agent, has a per of 11, plays no defense, and is a career 33% 3pt shooter.
None of that is good. If he was like 21 22 at this point in his career you could say he could be developing still and shows promise. He is what he is now the same as he was drafted. Just another old draft pick late in the first showing mild playing ability compared to the 19 year olds he was drafted with who never got much better.
Kuz is fools gold. No thanks. Lakers will find some stupid GM willing to gift them a good veteran for Kuz. Won't be the Celtics.

Every person who suggests Hayward in a trade needs to be banned. Jeez.

some guy on the GB said Hayward AND the griz pick for Drummond......
Then a Celtics fan on the GB said they were thinking about it...
Right after i was done showing he's worth 10m-15m a year and Kanter was better at 5m a year.

hahaha. It's unreal man. Do people realize how good Hayward is? He's been playing really well, and he makes everyone around him better. Whoever posted that on the General Board I guess doesn't realize how the game has changed. Having a big rebounding center like Drummond isn't what it used to be. A player like Hayward is much more useful and relevant to today's game

The only thing I am interested in for the Celtics is getting a vet SF/PF for the bench either through trade or buyout. The center combination of Theis/Kanter and eventually RWIII is good enough for this Celtics team.

yeah, he's interesting. Only making slightly more then 3 million so a trade would be possible. We've played against him enough to know he can impact a game with 3pt shooting and toughness. Who's minutes is he taking? I like our rotation now. Bringing in Saric would be Grant Williams & Probably Semi/JGreen are out of the rotation. Also, what are you giving up for Saric? Is he moving the needle enough to justify a deal? interesting

any interest in Marcus Morris? He's available but if I had to guess I'd say he winds up with the Sixers. I really don't want to see Morris AND Horford on the sixers. I'm not sure where he would get minutes though with Brown, Tatum and Hayward. What about Dedmon? Gives you another body up front in case Williams doesn't return. I think reddick would really help but I don't think we have the salary to get that done. And you'd have to give them some young players and picks and I don't knwo if Danny is ready to give up on Edwards just yet. Danny could very well stand pat at the deadline. The one thing I'd say in favor of a deal is look at what Toronto did last year with the Gasol trade.

[Hughes] In addition to the Sixers, Hawks and Lakers, the Celtics and Nuggets have emerged as suitors for Bertans' services, NBC Sports Washington has learned.

Darío Saric for Poirier, Edwards and Milwaukee 1st is a Win/Win in my opinion. Convert Waters to an NBA contract if no vet shakes out with the buyout market.

Bertans would be even better.

By the way, I would be interested in Ian Mahinmi if he gets bought out this year. Ian Mahinmi does pretty well against Embiid.

Hayward's injury completely tarnished how fans view him and it's really sad. He's by far the Celtics best playmaker and will be instrumental moving forward. People are nuts.
