So how many coaches he's gotta cycle through?

Watch game 3 of the playoffs against the Bucks. He literally gave up on his team and was doing what Kevin Love's doing right now, but in a playoff game. It was egregious and one of the most despicable showings in sports I've ever watched.

I'll take the raptors shouting staff over any armchair GM on here. If masai wants Drummond it's because they did their homework. The only move I questioned was the signing of Brissett to 2 way deal but that was Nurses decision.

Nowhere does it say that Masai wants Drummond. The Goodwill tweet is straight click-bait trolling for gullible rubes.

Drummond is being misused by Casey. He's being used way too far from the basket. He's basically being used like Gasol as a facilitator from the 3 point line which is stupid because he doesn't have a respectable shot. He should be used like RHJ is being used in our system, screen and roll or present himself in the dunker's spot or closer to the basket where he can just crash the glass or catch a dish off and finish with max one dribble.

So he shouldn't be making dribble handoffs while picking the guard? Well you’ve just eliminated half his offense then.

Why would we want a big that can't play in the modern NBA?

This could only work if we had 2 superstars on the team, but the way we're currently built is we need scoring from multiple positions, and a whole lost of 3pt shooters to stretch the floor. We need Ibaka.

I can see us trading Gasol as an expiring contract, but even so I have a hard time believing our franchise will trade anyone that came back to defend a title before they have a chance to do so.

Brissett has been a pleasant surprise. Not sure what you’re talking about...

Taking a shot at Ibaka vs Drummond ain't end of the world. I would want Rose vs our scrubs or FVV though

From the Ringer : https://www.theringer.com/nba/2020/1/6/21051253/andre-drummond-nba-trade-deadline-hawks-raptors-celtics
That leaves Toronto, far and away the most logical destination for Drummond. Marc Gasol’s $25.6 million expiring deal makes salary matching simple, and the Raptors may be more willing than most to forfeit a first-round pick, confident that it will land toward the tail end of the draft order. Gasol could be subsequently bought out to latch on to a contender, saving Detroit some money in a lost season.

No, but they can have Ibaka though. We need Gasol for the playoffs, and there is a better chance of Gasol re-signing for one more season with us this summer than Ibaka.

It helps the Pistons
It helps Drummond
It helps one of the contending teams (wink wink, LA)

far and away the most logical destination....unless you look at it from our point of view.

Gasol AND a first for a guy there is literally a 0 chance we re sign after he certainly opts out of his deal? FOH lol.

Gasol's career is nearly over at this point. This is his year 35 season, he's old and over the hill, he was never a really efficient scorer, but this year he has been god awful with a 48% True shooting percentage and a -2.2 offensive box +/-. The injury issues he's having mean that he can't be relied on, and we're at the point where if we lose another big to injury it could be a death spiral for the team. Make a move now to get an impact player, it's the perfect time with Boston and Philly stumbling a bit.

I'm not sure I follow this writer's logic. The Raptors would want Drummond to contend with Embiid, yet offer up Gasol who has proven to be effective against Embiid. Boston would want Drummond to contend with Embiid, but thinks Hayward would be more valuable in the playoffs? If Embiid is the motive, then Boston will be more compelled to make a move than Toronto.

I would put the chances at zero of that happening. Even straight up I would question why we would do that, it just makes us worse now and in the long run. We won't re-sign him. This is a bad hypothesis. As said, Philly, we have the guy, Boston... we need Drummond to beat Boston and stop their bigs like Theis ?

And if he doesn't opt out.... it's even a worse case.
