Game 36: Celtics @ Wizards - 7PM

Post#1 » by nate33 » Mon Jan 6, 2020 8:47 pm

Can this absurd run of games continue? How many times can Ish Smith, Isaiah Thomas, Ian Mahinmi and 10 guys from the G-League beat professional basketball teams?

Why is IT always the last one down the court on both ends? He's treating the game like a warm-up pickup game

McRae not looking good as a starter, forcing the issue too much.

Bonga's spin move layup is becoming his signature.

As much as I like Payton's D, we are beginning to see how his limitations on offense can hurt the team. The guy doesn't want to shoot and he is unable to penetrate to create any offense for anyone else. Basically, if he's not scoring on a backdoor cut, he's not scoring at all.

Wow so Schoffield is our center right now? This is by far the smallest lineup EVER

FWIW, Mathews can only play on the regular roster for 45 days (not 45 games, 45 days). By my count, he has already been with the regular roster for about 25 days, so there's only so many games he can still play. If, for example, he misses 10 weeks with this injury, there still would be enough days left in the season for him to meet the full 45-day quota.

It really sucks for Mathews though. Particularly since he was having such an amazing run.

How 'bout our boys tonight! Up 42-34 with 3 minutes to go in the 2nd!

Again, they didn't get the memo that they're supposed to lose these games.

Watching Troy Brown on the defensive glass makes it more obvious what we're missing from Hachimura. Brown fights hard for every rebound. Mahinmi is doing all he can trying to keep Kanter off the offensive glass, so it's up to the wings to go in and grab those balls. Brown does it well. Rui, not so much.

Good game so far. We should not even be sniffing a win, yet we are up at the half by 11. It's the Celtics! Happy with the way Ish, Bonga, TB, and even IT are playing. McRae is active but I do wish his shots would fall. That could really blow open the game.
