Re: Welcome Matisse Thybulle!
It's been a couple of weeks and would be nice to get that update. We're apparently a below average team without our rookie out there hawking the ball on defense.

We desperately need him back. Over the last 2 months he's been a real difference maker. We likely would have pulled out 2-3 games we just dropped if he was healthy and playing.

According to Serena Winters, he practiced with the team today and might return against Boston.

Re: Welcome Matisse Thybulle!
Long term he should be a starter. That means we need to clear a spot by trading someone. E.g. package Richardson w/Horford for the best PG we can get. Or move Tobias, who may bring back a better return.

I think it would be a little hasty to make roster moves on behalf of Thybulle. He's just as likely to be Andre Roberson as he is Danny Green, in my eyes. We don't know if he can play, we just know he can defend.

Then how come his teammate Noah Dickerson had the same workload he did and found a way to be productive with the same teammates and the same pace of play?
Matisse Thybulle: 7.6 fga's per game, 12.5 ppg per-40
Noah Dickerson: 7.8 fga's per game, 18.8 ppg per-40
Thybulle couldn't score points because he's not offensively talented. He's just not that good. He's a defensive specialist with an optimistic shooting profile. Nothing more. He'll never be Klay Thompson.

Agree, you may want to take it down a notch. I love the kid and I think it's a lock that he will have a career in the NBA, but anointing him a starter and making moves around him at this point would be idiotic. I'm hopeful, I'm confident, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.

By all accounts, Simmons is roughly 6’10”
Thybulle ain’t much smaller

Rook put Kyrie in a box on a few possessions last night. Getting better at defending without fouling.

You might be thinking of James Worthy. Cooper's scoring was pretty trash. Pretty much just a defensive specialist.

Re: Welcome Matisse Thybulle!
Why be surprised, do you really think they want some guy out there playing lockdown defense all night?
He's worthy of being there but having him there is like putting a shark in a pool of golden retrievers. He'll get his flowers at the end of the season when he's on an all-defensive team as a rookie.

His agent said "ASSisstant coaches". Did Matisse hire this guy out of a 3rd grade classroom?

I don't think he's worthy at all. But there are a handful of guys that did make it that aren't worthy either so I'm surprised he got boxed out.

Re: Welcome Matisse Thybulle!
It's the path he chose. You don't get to go to All-star games for defense. You generally don't get paid for defense (unless you're DPOY type Center). Expecting to make a future Stars game when you're not a starter and you're averaging 5 pts and 2 rebounds, is a bit naive at best.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down
