I'll try not to stress about that until we see actually signalling that suggests that.

Ownership has been ill advised and delusional, but there's no indication that they've been impulsive or making decisions based on limited data.

If they're convinced now that he needs to be moved, it's entirely possible a few good games won't sway that view.

I'll tell you why we should stress it....

Outside of the Celtics and Raptors, that's their schedule to close out the month. They're currently 3 games out of 8th and 3.5 games out of 7th.
It's entirely likely that they could be within range of 7th by the end of the month nearing the deadline. Do you think there's any way Gores allows Drummond to be dealt if the Pistons are right there near a playoff spot? I don't. I say at this point it's a greater than 50/50 chance that Drummond stays and that chance increases with each win as we near the deadline IMO.

We just barely eeked out a win against Cleveland.

The time to panic may well be coming, but it’s not now. The team knows we’re that close to a playoff spot right now and they’re still shopping Dre. They aren’t doing that because they think the playoffs are impossible. They’re doing it because there isn’t a viable way forward with Blake eating up all that cap.

But yeah, if we decide to stay the course I’m out. I can’t go back. Not after 10 years of waiting for a rebuild. No.

This sounds strange to say, but I think you’re giving Gores and the team management far too little credit. With Blake playing last year, albeit weakly, this team got crushed in the first round. There is NO ONE on this planet who watches this team who would say that they stand a better chance this year. Yeah, Gores and the team management seem pretty dumb at times but I don’t think they’re THAT dumb. Regardless of the standings, this is NOT a good team that has any shot at anything, and anyone can see that.

Now, I freely admit that that’s just my opinion and thus I absolutely could be wrong. I will not deny the possibility that Gores and the team management ARE that dumb.

I hear you. My stance is based on projecting forward and them winning enough games to close in on a playoff spot and, thus, changing Gores mindset from where it is now. I'm in the camp of being skeptical that they'll do the right thing until they do the right thing.

I'm with you. If they not only keep Drummond but also extend him for big money, it'll be a major gut punch. Personally, I hadn't watched a Pistons game most of the year until Sekou started which brought my interest back. If Drummond is still here after Feb 6th, I might go back into hibernation.

If anything, we've seen over the last few years that it takes WAY too long to change Gore's mindset, not too little.

Something else I don't see people taking into consideration is that the rook may get really good, really fast and lift this team up by himself.

It's an outside shot, but he looks ready to go, right now even more so then even I thought.
