Re: ATL -Fizdale Fizzles Out in NY
Regarding maintenance, I have a perspective that helps me get my head around the standoff.
Basically, it's like when baseball reduced starting pitcher workloads many generations ago. Yeah, you can always say "we pitched 15 complete games a year in my day, what's wrong with these spoiled young wimps?" but as soon as teams gained an advantage by resting their starters a little more, everyone else had to follow suit.
And that's what it comes down to with maintenance. It's not that these guys can't play 82 games a year; it's that the advantage to resting a little has been discovered, and you're not getting that horse back in the barn now. People could get away with overworking their players in the past because everyone else was doing it, but those days are over.
And of course those past greats are going to compliment themselves on their greatness and work ethic and put down the next generation every chance they get (are there any former greats besides Bird who aren't stereotypical cranky old geezers in this regard?), but until they actually show some insight, I'll take them about as seriously as I take Abe Simpson.

NBA basketball was also a lot less taxing 10, 20, 30 years ago.

Did you really just post a lineup with the starting 2 guard being JR Smith?
Our actual management posted a lineup with the starting 2 guard being Tony Snell.

As the softest human being alive, I myself would take off every day possible I could if I had a broken ass. But then again I also make $40,000 a year and nobody pays to watch me do my job.

Brandon Clarke‘s PER is up to 22.4 now.
I feel like a proud father. I can’t believe teams passed on him.

Maybe if his name was Denise instead of Dennis.

you could make a case he's played better than any other 2019 rookie, though I doubt that will be the case in a couple of years.

Simmons on a healthy GS would wreak havoc (in theory).

I don't normally use this term, but I find it humorous that AD is officially butt-hurt.

So Brogdon's been out like double the amount of games it took for most of the media to blow their load over him being good and the Bucks were idiots to let him go. Don't recall anyone backtracking either. Cowards.

I think I've talked about a bruise can be a tear as well if it's bad enough.
Obviously reporters love to pick up such injury reports because of giggling about butt-things.

I think even the ones that were against letting him go understood the injury side of the decision.

Ah yes the old adage of “things were fine when I was young”
I have to ask.Is there any large number of players load managing outside of Kawhi?Older or newer generation i dont see anyone doing this?I have no idea why this narrative is out there.
We all know Giannis would play 38 minutes a night if he could right?
Boomers gonna boomer and blame 'this generation'
