That was a wild drive by Randle, it's like trying to defend a spider

Most recent Bill Simmons Podcast he and Philly fan Chris Ryan try to figure out why Embiid isn't exactly happy and at no time mention that it possibly may have been Jimmy Butler leaving who was a fantastic fit with Embiid(hard working, defensive, able to coast scoring till the end when bigs really aren't scorers). A lot of fans/media before the Butler trade said he was too old(29) to give a max to then be fine to hand a 32 year old Horford 100+ million over 4 years to play PF/C with a team paying a ton for Embiid and Harris at those positions. I still believe Horford is the short term replacement of Embiid to give Simmons the 3pt shooting big he really needs to play with. I expect to hear Embiid is on the market this summer citing Embiid being unhappy without any acknowledgement of Philly going away from Embiid to build around Simmons.

Somehow, put Butler and Embiid together in Miami! Philly possibly was an illness away from winning a Championship last year and didn't run it back(probably because the decision was made with the T.Harris trade).

I just don't get Philly not going all in with Embiid, which would mean cashing out Simmons, who I would have tried to get AD with last year, and seen how far AD, Embiid, and Butler could have taken Philly, that's a finals team for the next half decade or more if you keep them together.

I get the pros of trading Simmons. With Embiid injury history, you can't be waiting around for Simmons to develop a jumper. That is just wasting is prime. But put Simmons on the right team and he could win MVP in a couple years. You don't want him to be that team that trades him and watch him succeed somewhere else. It's a tough decision, I'm not sure what the right choice is. Personally I'd keep Simmons over Embiid. I don't trust Embiid health to go all in for him.
If Simmons ever goes on the market, the Heat should be willing to trade anyone for him including Bam. Put him in the heat culture and we could turn him into a top 10 player.

Not as impressed by the Sekou over corpse of TT dunk. Shouldn't every single player in the L be able to dunk over a player standing in the circle? I mean, good job. You did it, but damn. Ain't some Deandre Jordan over Knight ****.

Absolutely, if you build a team correctly around Embiid or Simmons, either one "could" be the best player on a championship team but I think Embiid has a much higher ceiling of the 2 for winning but trying to build around both of them is just hurting ceiling of the team.

Personally, I think Embiid is just too dominate on defense to not go with him even with his injury history. With Giannis in the league out of the 2, only Embiid really has the ability to be better than him, Simmons is just way too limited as a player and doesn't have the size or strength to slow down Giannis. I think Simmons would

I think Philly is stealth building around Simmons and believe Embiid may be available as soon as this summer(which is why Butler is no longer there, a mutual agreement to trade him). Philly already has the stretch 5 on the team(Horford), stretch 4(Harris), a stretch wing in Richardson and will only have to add one other player to the starting lineup who can hit 3s to be a great fit for Simmons.

Personally I'd stay away from Simmons, he works on 3s, he can hit 3s in practice but he won't shoot them in games even with his coach begging him to through the media and also knowing it WOULD help make Simmons and Embiid a better fit. It'll be very interesting to see if Simmons starts shooting from the outside if Embiid were to change teams. Who knows, although I think B.Brown is a good guy, I think he's too nice to get the most out of his team, he seems to give his players suggestions on what he wants them to do instead of telling them what to do. Maybe Miami with its strong coach/FO pairing would be united enough to get Simmons to become a more complete player.

Bobby Portis is talented but a hot head. He's a guy who just for a couple of seconds loses it because of his anger and lashes out without thinking of the repercussions. You can tell in the video he wasn't trying to block the shot, he doesn't even look like he's making a play on the ball, a couple of years ago he got angry in a practice in Chicago with him and Mirotic barking back and forth and sucker punched Mirotic which broke his jaw and he missed nearly half the season. I don't care how much talent he has, there's no way I'd want that ticking time bomb on my team.
