I think I've talked about a bruise can be a tear as well if it's bad enough.

So if I understand this correctly, technically he is butt-hurt because they tore him a new one?

Spurs 49 rebounds
Boston 39 rebounds.

Not a surprise at all (though I did not watch the game I have to admit).

Jokic backing down a small dude in the post is so unfair. Casually monsters his way to the hoop to get the lead.

Experienced Slav beats noob Slav.
Somewhere in the old country wise old men are watching the game and nodding silently.

Jimmy and Giannis would've been incredible together and no one can tell me otherwise.

Embiid out tonight vs. Boston
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

John Beilein deciding he wants to retire, fleecing Cleveland for a five year contract, and then doing his best to get fired his first season is my newest hot take/conspiracy. Bravo, old man. Must've gone to the George Karl school of coaching NBA players in the 2000s.

Kemba Walker getting ejected made me triple-take. To hear it's for swearing is hilarious/sad. Refs suck.

ETA It's the first time he's ever been ejected from a game, ever. Not NBA - ever.

I’ll take TJ in any real fight situation over Butler. Jimmy is a **** tool if I’ve ever seen one.

I think Beilein was just seeing his career passing him by and he didn't want to miss out on the chance to coach at the highest level. I don't think this was some conspiracy. He just didn't want to spend the rest of his life wondering what-if.

I think he's realizing that NBA players aren't like college players. You can't treat them like your kids.

I'm not sure whether to believe his excuse about "slugs" versus "thugs," though I think the context in which he used it makes the notion of him slipping up plausible. But that's the kind of thing that you might be able to skate past in college ball because of the power you have over those students, but grown men in the NBA will bust your ass for it because they've got power, too.

People are really really stupid if they thought Beilein actually meant to say something racist. Dude has been coaching young black men for 40 years with no remote incident and magically he shows to be racist now? Also, like 40% of the cavs team is white, and the term thug only has racist connotations if being used to describe black people. Do people really think he happened to lump all the players together and call them thugs?

There’s no conspiracy to fleece the Cavs. Beilein is just a coach who wanted to prove he could do it at the highest level, what more could he accomplish in college besides winning a title? The Cavs situation is just **** and truthfully, all their young talent is trash. They are an untalented team that the individual players also generally lack intangibles. There isn’t a coach that has ever existed that could have that team consistently winning, the roster is a gut job and IMO a smart GM would trade sexton and Garland before the rest of the league figures out they aren’t any good and don’t actually have big potential to fall back on.

If Beilein wasn't already done before this then he's certainly finished as an NBA head coach now. Maybe he indeed misspoke but who the hell calls people "slugs"? Just call them a bunch of dumbasses or morons like, you know, a normal person.

Sports exist as a diversion for us bums who have to get up and go to work. I no longer live in dark depressing snow covered Milwaukee, but when I did, I sure appreciated having a Bucks game at least two nights of the work week.

You also have to consider the bars and surrounding infrastructure benefiting from 41 games of traffic.

Breaking News: "76ers interested in trading for players that every contender would be interested in trading for"

The national media is so **** desperate for Philly to be a contender after they all crowned that team in preseason.

Whether he actually meant to or not is really irrelevant - the problem with racism is it's so embedded in our lives that we don't realize when it's there. I'll give him credit and assume that he genuinely doesn't actively believe black people are thugs, but much like Brian Davis saying Russell Westbrook was "out of his cotton-picking mind" or Danny Ferry saying Luol Deng had "a little bit of Africa in him", these saying may seem innocuous to someone saying them, but they actively hurt people who have a life experience of oppression and racism.

All that being said, John Beilein is probably a stand up guy. He seemed like a really good college coach. But he probably doesn't have what it takes to coach in the NBA and it'll be interesting to see if Cleveland is willing to stick with him past this season (when I'm assuming Altman will be shown the door).
