I’m def in the minority, but I’m not a huge fan of Nunn’s game. Not sure exactly what it is, perhaps it’s the pace he plays at or his shot selection, but I just don’t see it.

Don’t get me wrong, he’s a great story and been a huge pleasant surprise this season. Just would prefer to see us cash some of these chips in.

It’s clear we need a consolidation trade to up our talent level while maintaining our depth.

With Nunn, I like his variance from the rest of our guys. Meaning, he feels like more of a soloist than a true team player. He's got that scorer's mentality without being great off ball. Good to have a guy like that in the mix when our three for all fails us.

Unfortunately, he's been in a pretty good shooting slump since the first ten games or so. He needs to get cocky again and start letting it fly. Feels like he reined his game in a bit, to it's detriment.

Going to get outrebounded every once in a while. We were a little unfocused there tonight, coupled with some interesting bounces off the rim that played right into BKN's hands. I checked our rebounding disparity a couple days ago, and I believe we were third in the entire league. We've been super solid this year in that department.

Although I don't think Nunn did that much better in the third, did he?

That was a pretty awful pass. You need a high percentage shot there and he basically kickstarted Brooklyn's momentum. I'm the only one who's noticed that trend of his so far this year though. He does it in the clutch often enough for it to be a real problem. Damn good shooter when he's on though. That's the trade off.

As for Nunn, I got home in time to see about 9 minutes of the 4th. Nunn deserves more time. He needs to get more consistent on his shot, but he feels safer in certain situations than Dragic.

Agree with you wilts. Nunn’s value may never be higher than this season

He got scouted into defenses rushing his shots. Remember the Joe Johnson-like quality to his game? Gone.

I'm with you with the cashing in our chips and I also think nun is hyper-extending talents a bit but he has something, I don't know what to call
It...pat maybe trying to replicate what Orlando Had a few years ago with Superman (dwigth) and little guard, bam and nunn are very similar

So, the Nets hit 3's, killed us on the glass and this:

Nets really took this W right from under our noses. Gotta give them credit. Despite the poor shooting we played well enough to win the game against a desperate team. Loss sucks....but not one to overreact to imo. You win some, you lose some.

Oof. With a bit better coaching job, this could've easily been a W. The "road" is not to blame for this L.

So, if we look at +/- last night we see Bam and Butler the worst on the team, yet we know they were the best.

Box Score +/-
Bam -16
Butler -15
Leonard -1
Nunn -5
Robinson -10

Dragic +9
JJ +9
DJJ +7
Herro +2

This is where one of my regular simple stats comes into play, ORTG-DRTG to try to see who was being productive with their play instead of just being on the court when scores were or were not happening(these are based off 100 possessions on offense and defense).

ORTG-DRTG
Bam +29
Butler +23
Leonard -52
Robinson -16
Nunn -32

Dragic -29
JJ +2
DJJ -33
Herro -11

Well, this seems to tell the story a lot better than the boxscore +/-. Boxscore +/- seems to be somewhat helpful if there's a lot of data for each player although I still like ORTG-DRTG better.

Goddamn we didn't stand a chance in hell. Meyers Leonard looked like the worst player on the floor for real. He is putrid against mobile bigs. Ortg-Drtg=X ftw.

Brooklyn had 14 offensive rebounds to Miami's 4 and had 8 more FGA more than Miami although Miami had 2(only) more FTs. It was a road game and I was disappointed with some of the efforts I saw in the game. An easy adjustment would have been going/staying big but I'm guessing this was something Spo wanted to see how the team and certain individuals would respond.

I would think if Spo wanted to pull out all the stops to win the game he would have been yelling to get the ball to Butler to at least have some sort of consistent scoring during that Nets run but he didn't. It may have been Spo seeing if the team/personalities would be able to figure it out.

It is odd to hear a fanbase get angry when Spo isn't mentioned as a top coach(before this season started I believe) and then have him called out during the season, people do make mistakes but also sometimes there's alterative motives for coaching decisions.

Yes, I think Olynyk(better size, better rebounding, better shooting, less switchability) instead of DJJ would have won that game in the 4th quarter, that little burst of 3s he made in a few games was just an anomaly at this point, even if he's making them in practice.

Any chance Olynyk is being discouraged with his playing time on opting into his player's option before it's possible his value tanks without playing for 2 seasons(no one will ever admit to that)? I just don't get why Olynyk has fallen all the way out of the rotation unless there's a push to see what the young guys have from higher than Spo.
