Monty Williams bringing Ayton off the bench. Now that’s a bold move you see every day.

Yeah odd move but I think they just trying to get him into rhythm since he’s missed so many games. Last night he closed out the game with the starters and was great defensively again.
Ironic how this season he’s more of a defensive player and less of a scorer which is the opposite of his draft profile. Lol

I like the way they are adjusting him to the modern NBA. Less touches in the post, everything is coming off of action and high screens, he has to do less work on the inside and can expand more energy on defense. They have enough perimeter offense where they don't have to rely on him so much to make plays with the ball.

Yeah they basically using him as a rim running defensive big. I do think they should hit him in the post a bit more tho cause he’s $$$$ in the post. Like when they played the Kings the other day he was destroying dudes in the paint and for some reason the suns stopped looking for him in the second half. Therefore they lost the game lol
Ayton gotta start showing off his 3 ball in games. He always practices it and it looks wet but never uses them in games. He could make their offense more lethal if he start shooting it cause they stay leaving him open. In college he shot it but he stopped once he got in the league. I assume eventually it will happen

It's amazing to see how Monty Williams' career has unfolded. I remember his rookie season when Oak went down. He got a handful of starts and looked impressive. In his first start he had MSG on their feet. He came out the gate with 8pts in the first quarter. Hit a ball fake on someone that no one saw coming. We weren't used to seeing athleticism from the Knicks. Karate chops, yes, but not speed and jumping. It didn't last long, though because of some outdated philosophy Riley and the team had about playing rookies. Sadly to this day the team still doesn't put any time into development. He's become a helluva coach. Would be happy to see him take a run with the Knicks, if the front office ever gets right. We'll never get anyway trying to get all of Scott Perry's projects on the team.

I remember wanting Towns badly in that 2015 draft for his defense.

We need a farm system like the Spurs. Has anyone seen how well Lonnie Walker is progressing. Can you imagine where Frank would be if he was drafted by the Spurs. Tony Parker and Manu all late picks

I would've picked Ja #1 over Zion.
I wanted him on the Knicks so bad, the Draft Lottery was traumatic for me.

Knicks did their part, but the fix was in for the Pels.
