Collison, Covington and Igoudala

Post#1 » by RoyceDa59 » Wed Jan 8, 2020 4:49 am

Really want to see you guys trade Kuzma for Covington, sign Collison in FA and sign Iggy in the buy-out market.

2020 playoff roster:
PG James / Collison
SG Green / Caruso
SF Covington / Bradley / KCP
PF Davis / Igoudala
Cc McGee / Howard

Collison is a career .400+ 3pt shooter and a good defender, good play maker. Covington is a career .360 3pt shooter and a great, versatile defender. Igoudala is clutch and brings defense/leadership on the wings.

Covington and Iggy can defend against Kawhi/George/Giannis.

Overall 3pt shooting and defense improve significantly.

Make these moves and you've got yourself a championship team. Do you agree?

Covington can't dribble. He literally goe exposed in Phili in the playoffs. They just set on him, didn't even chase him like Belly and Illy, and he was useless. And any rotation where KCP is below them all is a bad one.

That team would be a buzzsaw on defense. LeBron, AD, Green, Covington and Iggy are as good as you're going to guard wings of all shapes and sizes outside of the two guys on the hobo squatters.

I don’t know about you guys but I’m already tired of all these analysts speaking for the Lakers in the media.

We will see in the next games in which AD won't play if Kuz is ready for the spotlight or not.

Haven't you learned? We need to play kblo's butt buddy over all of those. It's not happening.

I don't think we're gonna end up with any one of those guys.

Collison I think it's gonna happen if we really have interest in him.

It's up to us, I think we are his favorite landing spot for a possible return.

But yeah, Covington I think it's a sure no and Iggy looks farther and farther away.

We might be able to land Iggy at the last minute but other than that I agree with you.

This idea that we need 3 point shooting is so overblown it's not funny. We have the second largest difference in the NBA.... we're one game back from the best record in the league... we've had maybe 5 to 7 games this year with everyone healthy and ready to go... we've lost one game all year where we didn't have our own destiny in our hands and everyone seems to think we have these gaping holes that need to be filled.

Our team is built to win in the paint. Too many teams have built around a 35% shot and have no way to defend the paint in this league and we're proving it nightly. Sure we need to hit 3's but in no way to we need to take or hit more than we are currently. The last thing we need is to trade a Guy like Kuzma, who can score inside, in transition and from 3 for a guy who is just a better 3 point shooter. Kuzma's defense has taken a remarkable jump this year as well. If there is someone that is a better overall package than sure... trade him but this idea that we need these "specialists" who each do just one thing great ignores what we're doing to teams right now it seems.

If we must trade to get a better piece then I'd say Green is the best candidate. He makes a lot for what he does and what he does he's not doing very often.

Realistically Collison, is safest bet since we don’t have to give up anything for him . I would love RoCo though

He had 24 points last night still making bad decisions though but he played much better

If we don't have to give anything up, that's the play.

If you do, then it's sub optimal

I agree with this with one caveat.
I don’t think we should trade Green either. We will need his D and 3 point shooting in the playoffs.
This team is constructed for a deep run in the playoffs and I wouldn’t trade anyone with the exception of Daniels or Cook.
If we can pick up Collison, then one of those guys definitely becomes expendable.

Collison is the only one needed due to Rondo 1 good game out of 10 ratio. Iggy would be welcome and Covington is a nice piece but he's not a scorer...the defense would be fun though.

Covington is the most overrated player on realgm. He’s worshipped like some god here. Last year entire trade board said Covington was worth more than Ingram. The guy is a mediocre shooter and his defense is wildly overrated. Philly was a good defensive team bc of Simmons and Embiid. Are the wolves really drastically better at defense bc of Covington. Realgm acts like he’s friggin prime Ron Artest out there. I’d hang up the phone on a Kuzma for Covington swap
Warspite:

Prince + filler for Kobe Bryant
To be honest the way Prince has played and with Kobes injury/age/mileage Im not sure I would do that deal either. Still Prince is more important and he wins the head to head battles with Kobe.

.... next to Caruso I'd say. I love the guy but his "press" around here is off the charts above his actual value.

I think people like me who hype him usually talk about Caruso’s potential, not where he is just yet.
