It's not unimportant to remember these are real people, not just machines for our entertainment.

Amen.

Let's also not forget that OKCs hard on for Perk basically led to them blowing up their dynasty. All they would've had to do was cut Perk and they could've avoided the tax and kept Harden. Probably one of the biggest mistakes in NBA history.

Perk is pretty lame for trying to parlay his jobber NBA career into some sort of elder statesman of NBA tough guys, and I don't fault anyone standing up for themselves in that situation. But at some point, simply ignoring this kind of crap is always the best option, but KD continually proves that he's comically insecure and self-righteous towards anyone, be it teammates, former players, fans, beat writers, literally anyone who utters his name in anything but a positive light. He feels the need to respond to everything and everyone, and I, like most people, am just sick of him whining about stuff like this.

MVP article on CBS. Going back to a lot of preseason discussion on here. There's LBJ at #2, guy is just ridiculous to still be this good at his age. Two websites I use don't have MVP odds up right now.

Tobias and sweetener for CJ McCollum would be a scary move.

It's interesting to see former players with the weakest move of all-time take, though. I mean, it's the most anti-competitive thing a great player has ever done hands down. I don't know how he ever fully lives it down, especially with the Achilles injury at 31 making it seem like a return to his previous heights is less than likely. He's got a mark, a taint. It's insane, this guy's taint.

More and more looks like the Beilein outrage was out of place. Someone doing their best to get him canned.

And too ready to "gotcha" someone. Publicly shame, cast stones, prop themselves up by pulling them down, etc. Granted, there is still a heck of a lot out there that deserves and still a few flying under the radar that I don't get how they are

I'd still really like to know who finds Perkins interesting at all?

I didn't love his decision but I guess the counterpoint would be the media and some fans go crazy about rings and feel a guy should do whatever it takes to win as many as possible. He was a FA and that move was his best chance to win rings.

It's kind of unfair for people to scream 'get rings that's all that matters and all well judge you on' the scream 'not like that'.

Personally I'm not in the ringz are all that matter in sports crowd and feel that whole thing has kind of lessened the enjoyment for fans and is bad for players but it's absolutely something that's out there.

I've pointed out before the logical conflict between "this guy is great because he'll do anything to win!" and "I don't like that he did this thing only to win!"

We only like it when those things happen on the court -- when the will to win impacts a player's summer decisions, suddenly it's self-invalidating. It's just a tough spot. I don't really even judge him personally for it, but I also think it's undeniable that his career will be judged for it and despite getting those rings, they will not carry the same weight as, for an extreme example, LeBron's Cavs ring.

That said: probably still better for the long term perception of his career that he gets those rings because ultimately there's no replacement in the CV for rings regardless of how lightly regarded they are.

Perk is a knob. Power to KD calling out that BS. Perk trying to carve a career in hot takes at the expense of current and former players is a dick move on his behalf.

Rachel Nichols (and most of the NBA media) basically want to give AD the DPOY award already, holy **** is she annoying. Giannis is MVP and DPOY right now.

Brogdon finally cleared to practice yesterday, cleared to play and he's out sick vs. Bulls tonight
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Obviously Luka is an absolute joy to watch, and we are fortunate to be able to bear witness...

but...

Spoiler:
Dude gets some favourable whistles that Giannis can only dream of, and gets away with a lot of on-court temper tantrums that most guys would get techs for .

Im 27 and my favorite NBA era was 00-05 so yeah. This new gen does too much hopping around and bitching
Bucks tricked me into being a diehard in 2001, LeBron is the 2nd best player ever, and pizza is awesome.
