1) I'm a Rodgers fanboy, posted way more in this sub around 08-10, was all-aboard transitioning from Favre to Rodgers, and Rodgers will likely go down as my favorite football player to watch of all time. With that said, I absolutely hope we amp efforts to start finding an heir apparent this off-season.
2) Just curious for more of the Xs/Os guys - I've heard here and on podcasts about Jones' usefulness as a receiver has been neutralized since teams have been using DBs on him. Isn't this an indictment of our offensive playcalling or just more of a reflection of the relative uselessness of the tightends (i'm still in on our young TEs, but had minimal expectations for this season)? Sort of like using a stretch five to draw bigs out of the paint, given Lazard, Kumerow, et. al are + run blockers, seems like we should have far more opportunities to run Jones against dime sets?
3) I'm with the group that thinks we're more of a 10-6 team than a 13-3 team, mostly owing to this teams inability to play more than 70% of a complete football game; however, I think virtually every NFL podcast I listened to this week leaned toward Seattle, who isn't in great shape, won their fair share of coinflip games, and struggled some against Josh McCown. I would have minimal confidence going against SF, but, c'mon, barring Detroit sloppiness (Graham dropsies, uncharacteristic fumbles from skill guys), we got this one.
Don't post much anymore but still enjoy the chatter (well, maybe not the OL vs WR debate
