And it's not like he is having a great year. He is average at best in defense, and back with his bad habits on offense (still our best passer IMO).

I think he’s been better than average on d but as far as bad habits on offense I agree. Id part with Smart a lot easier than Hayward ,for sure. I don’t think he’ll ever change his bad habits and I don’t believe in Brad to dial him back. Also, I think Hayward is a much better passer.

I heard from a person with knowledge today that the Celtics have interest in trading for Alec Burks from Golden State.
I wouldn’t mind that one bit. 6’6 combo guard that defends fairly well, 36% from 3, averaging 15ppg in 29 mpg for a bad team. Could give Boston quality backcourt minutes for 15-20mpg.

Celtics were reportedly interested in him before

It would have to be Javonte Green and draft considerations unless other players are involved because of Golden State and the tax apron

Can never have to many 6'6 wings!

Would guve some much needed bench scoring. Would like to nab wcs at the same time.

Poirier green and bucks first for wcs and burks would be a decent move. Wcs give that needed size in the center spot. Burks bench scoring.

we need either jaylen or tatum to develop into a bona fide mvp candidate, or else we need to package them to get one. both of them are still very young, and they've both shown tantalizing hints, so it's not a crazy to hopefully hit on one of those. we've got a ridiculous number of young players, we've got to see which ones are going to be genuine contributors, which ones we can trade for an upgrade, and which ones are duds. then we need to consolidate around tatum/brown/kemba (as the vet 3rd wheel), and put the right pieces around them like a proper big man.

it's all coming. the plan is in action. but it's a couple of years away.

You rebuild fans have been saying this since 2008. You go all in every year, nothing is guaranteed. Danny has to make a splash and add to this team. We need a BIG and some punch off the bench. We have a ton of assets to unload. The time is now

I imagine GS would do that only to shed salary. So I'm not sure that Poirier would be very welcome.

Semi for Burks works on the numbers.

And while normally we wouldn't be in the business of providing salary relief, Semi plus Green would come very close to being enough for Burks and one of the bust rookie-contract guys GS would like to unload. Similarly, Semi plus Poirier would be close to Burks plus both of the busts.

I think. I'll leave it to others to check in more detail, if they choose. :)

If they're looking for a little vet pop off the bench, I could definitely see that. He's on a one-year vet minimum contract. I wonder if Danny would be ready to give up on someone like Carsen for him. He's really a wing with ball handling at this point.

would be a good get, if we can grab him without giving up much. e.g. semi and carsen and a 2nd rounder. not sure i'd give up too much more. not sure i'm willing to give up on langford this soon.

he's a legit scoring threat off the bench, good defender, smart vet. been one of the few solid performers in a **** show of a warriors season.

He’d be a useful backup with Langford a long way away.. wasn’t sure why Cleveland gave up on him. He’s remarkably athletic for someone who’s had so many injuries- and he was considered a potential Star first developing in Utah but never had enough uninterrupted run to put it together. Gordon and Enes would know about him.

Probably two 2nd round picks would be enough for Burks. Doubt anyone gives a first, if Danny is willing to give MIL first...but knowing him he will not :)

But yes, Burks+WCS is worth MIL first.

Poirier, Green, Mil first

Stein, Burks

Makes so much sense as he gets to the free throw line which is something Danny valued in this year's draft and also a point of emphasis with our current squad.

why do we need looney or wcs? they are both worse that theis and kanter, and i'd rather have timelord getting the scraps.

burks for semi/green/pick works.

I have no expectation right now on when or if Timelord comes back this year. If they have worries he won't be healthy, I absolutely would look to add Looney. Don't care about Burks and WCS is meh but if we could add Looney that would be a boon. He is strong enough and savvy enough to trust in playoff games. And in certain matchups (teams that play five-out), he is more playable than Kanter.

We’d be losing a facilitator in Hayward. Gallinari is not that ( unless I’m misunderstanding.)

Uh yeah is he. Guess you haven’t seen Gallinari play much? His game is very similar to Hayward’s.

Gallo is a decent passer, can run the pick-and-roll and can drain threes, which forces his defender to step out of the paint to deal with him and opens up lanes for others. That’s the definition of a facilitator.

I have seen Gallinari play a bunch. I disagree that he’s a facilitator.

Then you should open your eyes more or seek out an optometrist for glasses.

Because clearly you haven’t watched his career then.
