If anyone is interested

Looks to me like Kelly Oubre ripped off the old Valley National Bank logo. I smell a lawsuit coming.

That's not Oubre's stuff....that Valley Boyz Shop started selling stuff as soon as the name was created, and they get ripped on twitter for ripping off the name and making cheezy apparel. I actually told them they ripped off the Valley National Bank logo months ago.

Impressive. If he can cut down on some of those boneheaded plays and JJ-esque drives and just play smarter, he should be a candidate for MIP

MIP is gonna have way too much competition this year.

But Oubre is easily the most underrated player on the Suns. He’s had a big game in nearly every big win the Suns have had this season. Even in the close losses to very best teams, he’s a main reason why we’re still in the games.

People have to start recognizing that he’s more than just a pretty face.

Yeah I don't think he wins it but I think he'll get recognition as a low end candidate.

Yeah, he was good enough last season to not be considered for MIP this year. There are other players with much more improvement (Devonte Graham for example comes to my mind).

I have to say that Oubre has surpassed my expectations about him. He is playing really well so far (except for that Lakers game) and he is consistent on both sides. You know what you get from him every night.

His energy and his scoring ability are much needed, and he give us a terrific option in transition because he can finish on the open floor even through traffic and contact.

His 3pt shot from the corners are money too. I don't have the percentages in front of me but I would say that he is pretty good shooting from there. That gives Rubio and Booker space to operate with the ball on their hands.

I voted "exceed my expectations." Dude has been marvelous of late. APPALLED that he did not make the NBA Top 10 for last night's dunk on Javale.

His three point shooting has been a revelation. Pair that with some of his other positives, and it's clear that I'm an idiot for saying just a day or so ago that I would trade him for a scrub like Gordon. Shame on me. Sure, these are hard times. But no need to compound them with bad ideas born from overreaction.

We are not talking enough about how great he is playing so far this season.

Oubre has played every single game (difficult task nowadays) and he is the heart from this team.

He has diminshed his mistakes on both sides of the court, he plays more safe and does not commit too many TOs ( just 1.6 in 33.9 mpg).

His effort and passion are always there. It is impressive that he usually stays out of foul trouble playing as hard as he plays.

He is improving his play every week, and he is having career numbers everywhere...

18.5 ppg
6.4 rebounds
1.6 assists
1.5 steals

And 36% on threes.

I was not a big fan of him last year but I really like him now. He is a big part of our core and we need to extend him this summer.

At $15M his contract is too nice for the Suns, I expect him to get easily over $20M in his new deal.

At this point, Oubre has certainly outplayed his contract. The question is by how much.

The thing to consider is that while he may be worth $Xm per year, there's also only so much money this off season so his options and salary level may be limited by that. I think $20m a year sounds alright but I want to see how we go down the stretch too.

He has really improved. Even throughout the year. He started with some of those ugly drives into a bunch of traffic, but I don't see that nearly as much as I used to. And his clutch 3s along with some steals and dunks at times we really need them has been huge.

They can offer him an extension this summer but I doubt he takes it. He might as well try to keep balling out and really get paid the summer of 21.

The good thing is he really seems to like it in Phoenix and they will have bird rights. In situations like that a deal gets done.

If he keeps playing like this and incrementally getting better I have no problem paying him what he's worth 18 months from now.

He's always had a super high ceiling but so many guys like him never get close to reaching it. Good for him for continuing to work and refine his game.

He will be an UFA in 2021, but we can avoid that situation extending him this next summer.

We can probably offer him $45M for 2 years... plus next season ( $15M already guaranteed).
That would mean a contract of $60M/3 years. (Seasons 2020/21, 21/22 and 22/23).
