after the core group of both Martins, Kobi Simmons, McDaniels and Franks, the drop off in talent is significant; so you are spot on in your sense that the Swarm lack interior defense and depth

hate to keep banging the same drum but Dwayne Bacon 0-3 in 12 mins vs BKN tonight, meanwhile in Lakeland, FL Cody 30 pts including 6-11 from 3
if Cody Martin is going to start shwacking 3s how do you continue to play Bacon ahead of him?

Keep him down there jacking 3s and getting immense playing time.

call me crazy, but with his defense and passing, if he starts hitting he 3 ball consistently i'd prefer him over Miles as well.

Re: Greensboro Swarm - The D-League Thread
The way miles has been playing this season that's certainly not a hard reach. I'm as down on Miles as I am on Monk. They are both so similar. Incredibly athletic, tweeners without a true position, ridiculously streaky on offense, completely lost on defense, and capable of some amazing highlights and some awful low lights. Anyway this discussion for another thread.

Robert Franks had hit a horrid cold spell, going 4-28 from 3 in the previous 4 games, but returned to form the last two games, going a combined 8-17 vs Westchester and College Park
Caleb keeps on keeping on as the best all around player for Gboro

Caleb Martin last week vs Erie. With Caleb you get the same things you get with Cody: energy plays, steals, rebounds. Time to give any minutes the team thinks they want to give Bacon to Caleb. He is better than Bacon.

Blowout loss today to Raptors 905. Without Caleb Martin and Kobi Simmons (I assume they're with the big team?) Swarm paced by Franks and Jalen. Joel Berry II got 30 mins and 13 pts (no highlights available)

Keep it up with the updates my man. Should do some updated on Kulboka or whatever his name is as well. Im not sure if they would have any youtube highlights of him (very doubtful)

Re: Greensboro Swarm - The D-League Thread
Greensboro has lost 9 games in a row! now 4-17 and sunk to the bottom of the League. Caleb w 25 vs Austin. Kobi Simmons a good game. Robert Franks inactive of late. One new twist a glimpse of new "big man" (6'9) Tai Odiase with 9 boards and 5 blocks
ps Kobi Simmons is 6'5 like Shai Gilgeous Alexander and can do some of the same things. Though if you want to highlight the difference between an NBA star and a G League player, SGA has a 6'11 wingspan while Kobi Simmons has a 6'6 wingspan. I like Kobi and think he can be an NBA rotation guy, but SGA's 6'5 height + 6'11" wingspan give him outlier size in the backcourt.
pps the Swarm not only lack interior defense they lack the explosive waterbug PG that tends to ballhog and lead their team to victories in the G League.1st place team, Wisconson Herd, for instance, paced by 6' PG Jaylen Adams, 2nd place Maine led by Carsen Edwards and Tremont Waters, both 5'9. Slow Robert Franks leads Swarm in scoring at 19ppg, Caleb at 18, Jalen and Kobi 17ppg, then no one else on the team averages 10 pts/game. Pace is an issue with the Swarm.

Instead of lowlights of the Swarm losing their 12th straight (!) to Long Island, I give you highlights of Nets assignee, Nic Claxton, who I know had a lot of fans in last years draft. Just thought people might like to see what he is up to. Damn he's got googly arms:

How is it possible for a minor league team to lose twelve straight? I mean, it has to be terrible coaching, because a good coach can turn even mediocre talent into a punishing defensive machine, sometimes even an efficient offensive machine.
