I think people are overreacting at this point. McCaw fills a gap where Powell is playing on a minute restriction and FVV is out.

Yesterday he played a few more minutes than Davis which is not a big deal since both were not impactful.

The issue the Nurse has to figure out is making sure Lowry is with the bench plus one of these players. The bench needs KLow and having both McCaw and Davis in the backcourt is a bit of a question mark. I would actually like all three to play off the bench when FVV gets back, but I may be in a minority there.

He has literally been one of the worst players in the league according to almost all advanced stats. I would take my chances with Shamorie Ponds at this point.

Raps are probably trying to showcase him for trades. Can't showcase if he isn't playing. :dontknow:

(Don't forget the last time we had a player we thought had no trade value in the market... Ross. We ended up getting Ibaka.)

I'm not sure how easy he'll be to move, but there has to be a nonrotational crappy player wit ha similar contract to trade for. That said I don't think masai would make that move, it's similar idea to what billy beane (brad pitt) did in the moneyball movie though.

I find it hard to believe McCaw needs 35 MPG to be showcased. Also, his contract is manageable enough as is to be included as a filler in any deal. Only explanation in my opinion is Nurse rates him highly as a player.

I didn't mean nick nurse was showcasing him on purpose. But that Masai knows that by trading McCaw off the team will make the team better he'd trade him for nothing/dead weight. He knows this now, because of all the minutes McCaw is getting.

Anybody hating on mccaw doesn’t understand the game of basketball.

Bigger, stronger version of Sean Livingston.

He plays like a ten year vet. The kid is a winner.

McCaw losing the ball in the back court, then giving up an and-1 and Nurse continuing to play him says it all.

As soon as I hit enter, he turned it over to schroder in horrific fashion.

But ya the kid looks like a championship level role player.

I just started looking at the box score in the 4th quarter. I think I'm done watching Raptors games until McCaw is gone. It's not even his fault. He's a scrub and likely knows it. But Nurse is going to play him as long as he's healthy, and it makes the team completely unwatchable.

Where the "Masai and Nurse know what they are doing" camp? Only come out when he has a good game.

This is getting out of hand.
McCaw has single-handedly lost us several games this season and he almost did it again tonight.
He's atrocious defensively and even worse on offense.
Every single game he has the worst +/-
Even tonight he was a team low -1 going into the 4th quarter, in a game where we lead by double digits for most of the night and had a lead as big as 30. Nurse still kept him in the game.
Powell and Davis were balling, but Nurse subs them out and keeps McCaw in the game to close out the 4th.
C'mon Nick... WTF DO YOU SEE IN THIS F***ING BUM.
In Masai We Trust :meditate:

Nicky may want to consider scaling back the minutes for Patty McCaw.
