33-7 over the first 40

Post#1 » by Kilroy » Wed Jan 15, 2020 7:40 pm

I feel like this is a milestone for us...
I just looked at those numbers and it kind of hit me how crazy that is after the last... What? 7 seasons?!

2 seasons ago, as optimistic as I was about the Lakers landing LeBron and turning it around, I still don't think I expected to be where we are today so soon.

Granted, I'm not one to put a whole lot into reg season records... It's where you finish that counts, but still, it's nice to be rooting for a legit team again.

we got a long way to go, we are just at the half way point (excluding the wear and tear of the playoffs which is about another good 24 games or so if they go all the way)
let's just hope and keep our fingers crossed for health for the two main guys. The banner is in our hands, we are fighting ourselves really, mentally and physically health wise. That is it. I dont believe anyone can take us out if we have those two aspects in hand, w the current roster.

Agreed. If both AD/Bron remain healthy and fresh for the playoffs, I think we will get the banner.

I expected a much longer "getting to know each other" phase for this team. I was prepared for a .500 first 20 truth be told. So that should explain why I'm not seeing issues with a 40-7 team at this point while others see the end of civilization over 3 percent 3 point shooting difference in players....

What the record at the halfway mark? I like seeing that bench marker. Then of course down the stretch.
I believe all these games are important early on. We need to fight for seeding. And all scenarios within

Yeah... the wait has been long. 7 years.... it only seems like 10.

Being one of the guys here that's been through 4 of these rebuilds I can say that this one was the deepest hole I've ever seen the franchise in. 72-80 was a down time but we were decent at least. 91-97 was another good but not great period between championships. 05-08 was a quick drop followed by an even quicker return.

I wasn't thinking even with Davis we were ready to start out of the gate like we did. I have my concerns about the diversity of the offense but the defense is as good as I can remember a Laker team.... ever.

Let's hope for health and growth from here and we'll be just fine.

Maybe it is time for us to sit back, relax and enjoy the squad rather than sweating Kuzz...
