I dont think anybody can blame Oubre, he has played so good, we are talking for the good of the team, and it solves 2 problems just moving him to the bench.

I'm not against trying it in a few games like Monty did with Ayton, but maybe at some point when he's not doing that well. Let's not act like there is not a potential to create problems in the meantime. They better be an above .500 team with him on the bench as no one wants to be a backup on a losing team, when doing better than the starter overall. Forget about Harden and Manu examples, it's not the same.

For years we kept complaining about not having a third option in our starting unit, and now we want to bench our second option (until Ayton takes that spot)?

He literally can not be the starting PG and the the PG on the 2nd unit. Whoever comes in for Rubio when he goes to the bench is the 2nd unit PG by default and yes we desperately need a veteran PG that will not just defer to Booker when in the game for Rubio.

Do you watch the games? Because that's exactly what Rubio does currently. Monty stages Rubio and Booker most of the game. Only a few minutes a game neither is on the floor. So yeah, Rubio pretty much starts and runs the 2nd unit now. It's not ideal, but it is what it is. I don't mind Okobo next to Booker to give Rubio a rest which gives Booker some "Booker Time". The main problem is when Rubio misses a game, now that's a big problem and I've been saying it from the start.

I guess you don't watch the games because you are contradicting yourself but that's the point Okobo next to Booker doesn't work because he simply just defers and hands the ball to Booker and doesn't run the offense. He isn't confident enough to run the offense the way a veteran PG would be. He is a good developmental guy but not as the primary behind Rubio if we want to win games.

Like it or not, Rubio's our third option on offense, and who really needs more than three options when Devin Booker is one of those options?

... Man, Ty Jerome not showing has been probably the most disappointing thing about this season. It really would have been great if he had come in and provided some perimeter offense behind Ricky. Our second unit has really been lacking in the department all season.

with an overabundance of scoring options in the starting unit every shot Oubre takes is a shot Ayton and Booker can't take.

by putting Oubre in the second unit every shot Oubre takes is a shot low percentage scorers Tyler Johnson/Okobo/Carter/Baynes/Cheick won't take.

ask yourself which scenario is more beneficial to the suns?
