Load management BS exposed
Kyrie making a dumb comment is dominating the news, but no one is talking about the load management BS that just occurred.
When Kenny didn't put Levert in during OT in the OKC game, he claimed it was because of load management and that's the way the Nets did business. Levert only played 22 minutes. 3 days later against the Heat he only played 24 minutes.
Kyrie plays 20 minutes in a blowout win over Hawks. 2 days later he plays 32 minutes. The very next day he plays 37 minutes!!! 3 games in 4 days? What type of load management is that? Kyrie coming of a more serious injury than Caris, hasn't played in 2 months, yet Kenny lets him play 3 games in 4 days? Where was the great performance /medical team we've read all the hype about?
Kyrie should not have played the 2nd game of the B2B. He played poorly and missed shots he normally makes so I'd say fatigue was probably the reason why he played poorly.
SEAN MARKS, is this the way you're going to play KD if he comes back this season? If yes, then KD, please take the year off. You're too important to the Nets future to let Kenny the clown play you in B2Bs the week you return.

I have a theory..it's inevitable that Kyrie gets surgery and they actually have a target date set soon - ending his season. Until then Kyrie wants to give us a short term boost so that we don't miss the playoffs. That's why he's not on a minutes restriction

Re: Load management BS exposed
OR, maybe no one on this forum is a doctor, and every malady or injury requires a different load management prescription???
The exception doesn't disprove or nullify the rule. I do think that fatigue contributed to Kyrie's poor performance, and honestly, I think that that poor performance contributed to his post-game comments. But he seems to be healthy.
Caris will be along soon enough, but his problem is that his defense has gotten even worse than before the latest injury, and Spencer has a stranglehold on his former starting spot.

When have Sean Mark's Nets been anything other than extremely conservative with players coming back from injury? Never before now.
Would any other team let their star player, who has an injury history, play 3 games in 4 nights after being out 2 months? I don't think so.
Kenny is the coach who didn't even want to play his fully healthy starters more than 30 min in the first couple of playoff games last year.

Re: Load management BS exposed
I'm fine with Kyrie playing (although I don't think he should) but playing nearly 37 minutes on a night where he wasn't playing well at all isn't acceptable. Load management isn't BS at all but I think if we're keeping it real, Kyrie has veto power over some stuff. And Kenny also isn't treating him like he does the other players. I get he's earned respect as a veteran and a star but there needs to be some compromise. Limiting his minutes on a B2B isn't a big ask.

every injury is different, every player is different. as long as we arent risking injury or not being cautious its fine.

How has the performance team been proven to be elite? The medical staff yes, but not the performance team.

Kyrie said a few days ago he expects to play in the back to back and the team gives him the freedom to do things his way.

My theory is I don't have a clue what's going on and I don't really care. All I want is a healthy team, enough wins to get into the playoffs and get some more experience for our young guns. They need to be championship ready starting next season.

Hmm... How 'bout if they're in shape to grow in to a championship team over the course of next season?
Not trying to mince words, but unless Durant comes back in a couple months and we go on to show flashes of beastliness during this year's playoffs, it's hard for me to imagine the Nets being "championship-ready" to start next season.
Dunno, maybe I'm being pessimistic

This does not even remotely resemble a championship roster.

Well Sean and Kenny have their work cut out for them, because the expectation is that we have a 2-3 year contention window with KD as our best player.
