Beal and Bertans have missed so many clean looks from 3. Bertans gets a pass. He's human. But Beal is on his way to a 3P% below 30% on the season. That's just embarrassing.

I actually think the Wizards' defense has been decent. Take away all those fast break points from the Wizards' 13 first half turnovers and this would be a different ball game.

Toronto has 19 fast break points to the Wizards' 2.

It was nice to see Brooks glue IT to the bench after his first 7-minute stint.

Toronto is a pleasure to watch, great ball movement and team defense. They can all shoot.

Davis and Brad are just are missing shots or we would be back in this. Bonga learning how to play, but Toronto is not guarding him at all, so would not get to excited about his scoring.

I can't believe Brooks is stupid enough to start the second half with the same disastrous starting lineup as the 1st half.

EDIT: Actually, with McRae out, he doesn't really have many options.

Beal has been playing much better D tonight. His rotations are sound and he's trying hard.

A bad couple of games.

He has made just 14 of his last 51 threes over the last 6 games. That's 27%

He's been starting at power forward. Bryant took three shots. Mahinmi took seven. Bryant is not used to playing power forward against guys just as athletic if not more than him. He's used to outracing the center, like a Marc Gasol, down the court.

But the Wiz are experimenting. That's what you do in a tank season. If they really wanted to win, IT would play about 10 minutes per game.

Toronto is what the Wiz aspire to. All those long athletes. Could Bonga be similar to OG Anunoby in 2-3 years once he fills out? He's really the only Toronto-type of player we have. Not Troy Brown, though he had good numbers. Rui is built for that style, though defense is like English to him-a foreign language.

I know McRae got hurt tonight. Beal, Bertans and Bryant are probably not 100%. But the effort on defense? Beal talking about culture change and the team responds to him like that?

The defense actually looked okay to me through the first 3 quarters. Toronto scored a lot because the Wizards had a whopping 22 turnovers in the first 3 quarters which led to a zillion fast break points.

In the 4th quarter, they gave up.

Trying to look for the little optimistic things in this game.

Brown 24.7% DRB% and STL% of 5% with only 12% TOV%. Oh, did he shoot .500 from 3pt land?

Bonga TS% of .824 and also a low TO%.

I am thankful that the Mahinmi/Bryant experiment will necessarily end at the end of the season. I am thankful that we will lose the defensive boat anchor that is IT at the end of the season.

Return to Washington Wizards
