Yeah it's so hard. We're deep and good at every position.

Maybe a knock down 3 point guy for off the bench?

But you get to the playoffs and it's an 8, 9 man rotation max.

So,

Lowry
FVV
OG
Pascal
Gasol

Norm
Ibaka
Rest of the bench.

So looking like we need a versatile wing. Unfortunately, everyone is looking for one of those.

It's a sellers market too, so that doesn't help much.

Rudy Gay

When the game slows down in the playoffs, the most glaring need will be for an iso scorer.

you'd have to give up Norm. it's risky, but a way less outrageous move than trading DeRozan. it brings in a bigger longer body that, in theory, should be able to get some of the iso buckets that Kawhi got in the playoffs. Maybe getting Belinelli in the deal too?

Iguodala would be nice addition too, he has championship pedigree. I just don't see him being able to get buckets in iso as much as Gay.

Someone on the wing with size that can handle the ball and create their own shot. Right now the only player we have that can do that is Pascal; adding another would give the team a lot more versatility in terms of lineups and would definitely help to balance out all of our undersized guards.

Direct trades are going to be a challenge because of who has the large contracts on the roster. Lowry isn't going to be traded so let's get that out of the way. As much as some want to get rid of Serge or Gasol, their games compliment each other well and Boucher cannot be your primary backup C in the playoffs. We can't trade one of those guys without having a replacement coming back as part of the trade. The other large contract is Norm; he has really raised his value with his play this year to where his contract looks like a great deal. Of course, he's our best SG, which is a position of weakness unless you are happy with some combination of Lowry/FVV/TD being the off-guard.

2 deep at every position with quality 2-way players. No holes on either end.

We're good.

Superstar or stand pat.

Looks great on paper. However, I see potential problems against teams with size. Last year our small guards had trouble against big teams; if they aren't shooting close to 40% from deep they become very limited offensively. RHJ won't be as effective inside against big teams and Boucher will get pushed around. We could use a wing with size that can create for themselves off the dribble.

"Not that guy!"

But really, nah. We already tried that experiment. In fact, getting rid of Rudy was probably the one of the best things to ever happen to our team. You can trace it back to the first chain event that unlocked our team's potential and we finally started winning... leading to an eventual Championship.

This is why Nurse has been working out that Jumbo lineup lately. And it's looked good!

Yes, it looked good. But there is an issue that will arise.

Lowry/OG/Pascal/Ibaka/Gasol

Now take the ball out of Pascal's hands in the playoffs. You need someone other than Lowry that can handle the ball and create offense.

Gasol is a pretty sweet Point Center.

I don't think we need an upgrade if we play a starting five of Gasol, Ibaka, Siakam, Powell and either Lowry or Van Vleet.

If it’s a minor addition, I think we need to add a 3/4 scorer like one of the Morris twins.

JJ Redick, to mentor Matt Thomas as well, without giving up any of the Top 7 + TD

I'd also take Lillard for Ibaka/FVV/Powell or OG/ + SRP/filler - something like that. Dame is money.

Other than that, nobody. I don't even want Beal - he's a net negative player, like DeRozan. (Although maybe he's not motivated right now.)

We need the same thing we always needed and will always need untill we get one. The most impact position on the court.

A 2-way offensive threat wing player.

Only a couple of those r in the league tho.

Fully agree. the only minor thing we could upgrade is another big man since gasol is so old. I would try to find a cheap rebounder, some like Tony Bradley from Utah (14 reb per 36min), Chris Silva (13 per 36), Trey Lyles, or Mason Plumlee
