Honestly people just need to start listening to embiid postgame interviews and articles written about him by national writers and its clear he has delusions about how good he is at basketball. He calls himself the best player in the league and mentioned that he would have won mvp if the team record was better last season. He implied he was better than harden after beating him in a meaningless regular season game last year with capela and cp3 injured.
He always looks depressed and is mopping after losses especially when he doesnt get his counting stats. Even in wins he mopes if he doesnt get his numbers.
He is a limited offensive player yet demands a 35% usage regardless of how many talented players we bring in. Do you know how much jimmy and tobias had to sacrifice last year just to satisfy this dudes desire to have a 35% usage on offense even though he showed in the playoffs that he shouldnt be the focal point of the offense at all against good teams.
It would be one thing if he realized his flaws and what he needs to work on but every interview this guy gives makes him seem less self aware than prime dwight. People think dwight is childish but boy if the national media actually picked up half the stuff embiid says in post game interviews they would wonder how childish can he be.
Honestly i was the biggest embiid fan boy until about last year. The boston series left a sour taste in my mouth then he came back on opening night against boston last year and looked like he learned absolutely nothing about how baynes and horford destroyed him 6 months earlier. Than it became apparent after the jimmy trade that hes just a low iq player who is selfish about his stats, doesnt give a rats behind about his teammates and cares more about his offensive usage than what is best for the team on offense.
Just look at his most recent interview about the role of the center in the modern nba. He dismisses bigs who rim run protect the rim and get rebounds and says he wants to be a guard and he doesnt like shooting 3s. Thats an awful perspective to have as a big man in 2020. The dude canr even dribble or pass out of an obvious double team yet he considers himself "more than a big man".
Compare that to marc gasols interview detailing the changing role of the big the increased responsibilites on defense the importance of spacing and the effect it has on unleashing your guards and pulling the big out of the paint and hpw he needed to lose weight to adapt to the changing game. Its clear as day the maturity of gasol and the immaturity of embiid.
Im sick of 35% usage on offense embiid. I would be okay with keeping him if it meant he would accept a 20% to 22% usage on offense but i know he will never crank back that much due to his obsession with number (this guy still fights ben for uncontested defensive rebounds even though its better for the team if ben grabs them and runs instead).
Im done with embiid and his lazy low iq basketball.
