It certainly has that vibe. Now I think technically his accountant will advise him to let the Packers cut him first and that way they don't have grounds to ask for part of his signing bonus back.

Z, Clark, and Adams probowl alternates

Still say Preston and Jones deserve it over Rodgers and Bakhtiari

No surprise Rodgers out of PB
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

McGinn

Za’Darius’s play was even more disappointing. As the running plays mounted and the pass rushes didn’t, he shut it down. Front-runners kind of go through the motions when adversity strikes and things don’t go their way. Several times Za’Darius didn’t even resist run blocks. When the ball was past him, he offered nothing extra. Dean Lowry made a tackle more than 32 yards downfield. Za’Darius doesn’t pursue. In contrast, check Nick Bosa charging out of the pack to lay a lick on Jimmy Graham 10 yards downfield. If Za’Darius wasn’t being outflanked, he looked confused and had no idea where the ball was. He helped Kenny Clark make the third-and-1 stop and later tossed aside TE George Kittle to tackle Mostert for no gain in the third quarter. That was all she wrote. After stopping Mostert, Za’Darius appeared hurt and out hustled the medical staff. One play later he was back on the field, the seventh time this season that drama played out. Twice Kittle pass-blocked Za’Darius without help.

Even though Mostert got outside Fackrell twice for touchdowns and the Smiths were awful, the coaches still didn’t think Rashan Gary was worth playing. They finally waved him out for the three kneel-downs at the end. What an indictment that was of Gary’s development as a rookie. If this turns out to be the final game as a Packer for Blake Martinez (52) it will be a moment to forget. He posted a team-high total of “bad” runs with two, both hard hits on Mostert. In each case, he was unblocked. There were other examples in which Martinez assumed the risk of running through the line and then didn’t make the tackle, overran plays, was slow to the edge and got engulfed by one-on-one blocks. The 49ers may have three inside linebackers better than Martinez. B.J. Goodson (39) had a tackle for a loss and filled hard three times. Oren Burks (three) joined Gary as a stalwart in the kneel-down defense.

^^^ So,...... If Z is the leader of the defense, and by most accounts he seems to be, then that's pretty damning. They were beaten in every way: by field play, physically, and it certainly sounds like a mental thrashing as well. Aikman has taken some shots for his non-PC "took their manhood" comment, but essentially he was right. That falls on the individual players, but also on the coaches for not adjusting to the situation.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001098015/article/raheem-mostert-sets-multiple-playoff-rushing-records

Mostert became the only player in NFL history with at least 200 rush yards and at least four rushing touchdowns in a playoff game. The RB also became just the third player to score at least four rushing TDs in a postseason game, joining LeGarrette Blount and Ricky Watters, but the first player to do so in a conference title game.

Mostert set franchise records for rushing touchdowns and rushing yards in a playoff game, passing Colin Kaepernick (181) in the latter category.

The 49ers RB came just 29 yards short of breaking Eric Dickerson's record for most rushing yards in a playoff game (248) but set the record for most rushing yards in a conference title game, breaking San Diego Chargers fullback Keith Lincoln's mark from 1964 (206).

Earlier in the game, Mostert became the only player in NFL history with at least 150 rush yards and three rushing touchdowns in a single half of a playoff game.

Records. As in, has never happened in the 100 year history of the NFL. By someone cut by 6 teams who stopped trying after a while.

This is not a question of talent primarily, because we still have NFL players on the defense. This was a total catastrophic collapse of scheme, with no attempt/possibility at a remedy.

Nobody should have faith that Pettine knows what he's doing after this.

This is not in any sort of defense of the Packers' defense they put out there but the take that does annoy me is, "the guy that beat us is a castoff and sucks" about Mostert.

He is a really good running back and Kyle seems to be the only one that utilized him correctly (plus he had one of the most disgusting arm injuries ever last year).

He ran for 6+ yards per carry on 10+ carries 6 times this year and had several other productive/explosive games on less carries. They were just too busy platooning him with the other good RBs they have there. Coleman's injury and, "it's the playoffs, run this guy into the ground because it's working" basically got him to get the extra 10-15 carries to put his individual stats into the record books in this particular game.

Mostert is a good back but the bigger issue is I dont care if it was prime Barry Sanders running behind the 1994 Cowboys offensive line. Giving up 300 yards rushing is disgusting and should never happen

^big yikes at our entire front 7. Defense made leaps, for sure. But I really think they need 2 DL AND 2 ILB.

I don't always agree with McGinn and much of his stuff is subjective. But I appreciate that he takes a lot of time to break down and analyze every play.

Schobert may be out in Cleveland. Would he be an upgrade over Goodson?

Yep a major upgrade over Goodson. Hes actually a guy I think Gute should target. Hes more of a coverage guy though so I'd consider him a Martinez replacement and not a Goodson replacement.

I'm normally someone who isn't big on drafting RBs high or going after Badger players (think many just over value them based on proximity) but despite Aaron Jones being so good I'd be awfully tempted to draft Jonathan Taylor at 30.

I know many would view that as more of a luxury pick but with the offense MLF wants to run he looks like great fit and allows a rotation of dynamic backs while not putting the Packers in a position where theyll feel forced to pay a RB huge money

I like Schobert but I think what we need is more speed from our ILBs.

Yeah he puts in detailed work. But Z has one bad day at the office and Bob throws out 'front runner' and implies his injuries were 'drama'. It's that kind of stuff that he loves to do that enduces some eye rolls from me.

It is a little eye rolling at times but Z did have alot of "Injuries" this year where he was back on the field 2-3 plays later
