Dang some good players hitting FAs.
Tough time not to have a lot of cap space.

You've got to figure at least half of those guys will never hit FA, though. Probably not even 1/3. The list always looks good before teams sign and franchise their best guys.

Re: 2020 Offseason
Guys you could see either being restructured or cut to save money to keep bigger guys?

McKinnion and Goodwin are both gone for sure.
Having Jimmy G or Ford restructure would have been huge

I’d rather keep Armstead than add Joey

We will most likely franchise him this season, but after that, if he has another season like this one, he's goneDodub wrote:I’d rather keep Armstead than add Joey

I don't know. Having both Bosa brothers would be pretty friggn' tempting.
Something to ponder: Armstead's highest sack number in the 4 years prior to playing with Nick & Dee: 3. Joey's average sack numbers over a 16-game stretch: 12.5 (in 4 years).

So in a trade? Joey's under contract next season. I guess they'd want Armstead under a franchise tag or something? I can't imagine he'd be enough to trade for Joey.
If they want Ford, that would be too much to give up. Ford is under contract for 4 more years. The Chargers would have to kick in a pick or 2. And even then, I might rather have Ford. Ford is older by 4 years, but he's still one of the best speed rushers in the NFL.

Re: 2020 Offseason
If we lose Sanders we have to try to get Green:
A.J. GREEN
WR, CINCINNATI BENGALS
Bengals coach Zac Taylor said re-signing A.J. Green is "definitely" a priority.
Taylor added that there will "have" to be contract negotiations this spring. 32 in July, Green has appeared in just nine games the past two years due to a lingering toe injury and offseason ankle surgery. He previously stated he wants to remain in Cincinnati as long as the two sides can come to an agreement, but the franchise tag is obviously in the cards as a fallback plan. Green's in store for a hefty payday even if he's unable to secure a reasonable guaranteed amount beyond 2020.

Re: 2020 Offseason
Can't the Bengals just tag Green if they really wanted him?
With Burrow, they may try to contend.

Yeah, I would imagine that that would be their best approach for their young signal caller. He dominated this season because he had elite weapons at the WR position. With Ross, Tyler, A.J. that should be a good situation for him to be in and develop appropriately at his own pace.

Now that I think about it...
Lynch might be the greatest trading GM of all time, so maybe this is a good idea.

As expensive as even a below-average, veteran CB is in this league, I wouldn't really want to go after a FA unless he's significantly better than that. If you're going to blow a wad on a CB, he might as well be a really great one IMO. Otherwise, just draft a guy.
Still angry the Niners didn't draft Greedy Williams.
That’s what I was trying to tell you Sick. The guy is underrated—not sure I’d used the word “great” that loosely to describe any football player, but he’s definitely one of the better corners in the league that most people don’t know about. Dude just does his job.
Carolina Panthers
Cornerback James Bradberry
The Panthers signed linebacker Shaq Thompson to an extension late in the season and have several defensive starters set to become free agents. None are more critical to re-sign than Bradberry. He has been solid-to-outstanding defending some of the best receivers in the NFL, from Michael Thomas to Julio Jones. Retaining his shutdown ability will make the rebuilding effort of new coach Matt Rhule that much smoother, and general manager Marty Hurney already has told Bradberry he wants to keep him. The issue might be fending off former Panthers coach Ron Rivera in Washington. "That's my man," Bradberry told ESPN.com after the final regular-season game. -- David Newton
